AC stuck in ON position??

i was driving yesterday with the AC on for an extended period of time. I noticed a strange PVC/plastic smell so i turned off my AC...however with the AC in the "OFF" position it was still blowing as cold as it was with it in the "ON" position. also i usually notice a slight drop in revs at idle and decreased performance when i turn the AC from off to on...but i am not noticing that now. all the buttons on my temp control work perfectly, it just seems as if the AC isnt disengaging...

yea i can...every button in the temp control area functions normally, the car simply isnt behaving as it normally does when i turn AC on/off (temp feels the same and revs are uniform reguardless of AC on or off).

check the relays first. The blower motor resistor could be on it's way out. Mine was jacked up, and I couldn't turn the A/C off, then it wouldn't come on period, then a couple days later I couldn't adjust fan speed.

For now, if you don't want to run A/C, just pull the fuse.

Thanks for the info. I noticed that only one fan comes on when I turn the ac on in the cabin.however even when I turn It off in the cabin the fan stays on. So basically its on all the time and the fan closest to the compressor won't turn on at all

Try this, sounds like they are part swapping for no reason.
