ABS issue

So I had a really loud humming coming from my front end while driving, I ended up getting the wheel bearings and hubs replaced about a week ago, along with a new right drive axle. While I was at it, I got new rotors and pads on the front. The hum is gone, but ever since I got my car back from my mechanic, my ABS kicks in about 70% of the time I come to a complete stop. The car feels like it slips and then I hear the ABS system for a second. It feels exactly like stopping on an icy road - except I've moved to California and its 100 degrees here. There's no ABS light when it happens, can't pull an error code, and my mechanic took everything apart and reinstalled it but hasn't figured out what's wrong. Any clues?
