97 3.0 trunk leak- first post
Just found Acurazine last night and I might already be in love. My pride and joy is a 97 Cl 3.0 edition and it leaks. When I first bought the car the guy told me the weather stripping needs to be replaced, I said uh huh what ever because I was a stupid 16 year old with the money in hand and all I could think about was I wounder how fast I can get it up to on the way home. I should have asked him why he knew this but i didnt. I looked on the pass side tail light and the light was cracked with some red glue shit over the crack I thought this was wierd but i didnt give a shit, since I only paid a grand for it (No lie, it doesnt have a branded title either) Well about 2 months into owning the car my friend was sitting in the back seat and all of a sudden his ass is soaked. I couldnt figure out why until it happened 2 more times with different people. I repleaced the weather stripping like I should have done (I did it correctly) and let it be. Once again another ass was wet with the next big rain and i had to take out my back seat and let it dry well i never put it back in for like 4 months until my ex starting getting mad, so one day my friend and I put in the back seat and put window/tile cauk (spelling?) in the trunk where it looks like the water was getting in. That stopped the back seats from getting wet but trunk still gets a little damp from time to time after rain. Which I wouldn't mind but i want to put an amp in the back and I cant do that if theres water. Any ways even though I put my life story in here I was woundering if anyone else had this problem before? Btw I am a poor high school student so anything over FREE is going to be tough to shell out to a mechanic. I am little mechanicly enclined and have friends that are so if I just have to buy the material I will be ok. Just give me a shopping list and and ill try it.

try more caulk or sealant, maybe some j/b weld. has the rear window been replaced? maybe they didn't seal it right.
if you can get a smoke machine, you could run it in the car and see where it seeps out, that would be where the water is getting in.
