you have 2 main options, the griffin powermate which is fairly large, or the phidget sensor encoder that I have that is small but requires some work to make it install it and have it look good. You can find the powermate anywere, and the encoder is here: http://www.phidgetsusa.com/cat/viewp...4100&SKU=1052a

Great job man, I hope mine comes out as good as yours!
Im about to do this system... i have the same motherboard, 512mb,
and my stock xbox hard drive (10 gigs, and a little slimmer than normal 3.5).
I have not bought the screen yet though, cause i was wondering if the 8" Lillput
would work in this type of setup. When you molded your screen to the dash trim,
did you retain the factory clips that secure it to the dash? do you have pictures
of the build? possibly the back of the trim after the screen was molded in?

^^ i'm about to mold the 7" lilliput and unless you want to keep the stock trim i am pretty positive the 8" won't fit.. i'll try to take some pictures of what I have now and post them up tonight.. just in case send me a message so i remember

Yea like hornyleprechaun said the 7" is a tight fit as it is, you have to cut the trim panel to fit it, but I did keep the stock clips. The dimensions of the 7" are 18.7 x 12.5 x 3.3 cm and the 8" is 20.5 x 16.3 x 4.0 cm. So it probably is possible but might require a lot more cutting/forming and losing the stock clips.

is it necessary to retain the buttons that come on the Lilliput? Once its all set up, do you need to still be able to adjust the brightness or anything else associated with the screen buttons?

EDIT: also, as far as the audio output... i have read that you need a line driver to up the voltage output to the amps... are you using one?

It has a wifi card built in that connects to my wireless router inside my house, from there I can access the internet at high speed for updates and putting music onto the car's hard drive. I have a Opus power supply that is designed for the the sole purpose of a computer in a car environment, so it soft shutsdown/boots it up with the turn of the key. I also use hibernation mode to speed up the boot up.
