Haha a real one. Never heard of the phonebook theory, but you'd have to make sure your E-brake is on for sure.

And wtf, someone deleted my post? BlackAck was that you?

Damnit, someone deleted my post. It was really long too.

Anyways, basically I used a caliper paint kit, pulled my wheels off, sanded my calipers a bunch, used a toothbrush to clean them, disconnected (but not fully) the calipers and set them on cardboard boxes underneath/next to the whole brake assembly. The calipers were still connected to the rotor by some line that I didn't want to mess with, so I just did it this way and was able to reach all the places I needed. I wish I would've taken pictures when I did it, but you'll be fine. The paint still looks good and it's been through one summer and a winter. It sucks to phyiscally have to lift up your car to fit a jack underneath of it.

Good luck!

i had a neon tube that had 2 small strobes on it. i took off the neon and extended the strobe wiring. i used a really thin wire near the strobe so i could just stick it in where the bulb is and put the bulb back in.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-15-...spagenameZWDVW

its better than $100 for 2 bulbs and a controller.

oh alright. and those extension wires reached both corners? i was asking for pictures of where you installed everything, not of the actual strobes. those are sometimes a pain in the ass to get a pic of.

ok here are more pix

This is the clear corner from the outside u can barely see the red wire.

I put the strobe in the same hole as the light and just put the light back in.

Here is where i put the controls.

This switch will control the power to strobes, cathodes and other lights i put in.

im gonna make a video of the strobes when it gets dark hear.

hmm..alright. so where did you place the circuit board and all that? did you extend the wires so long that they reach both sides? picture of the circuit board and where thats at? hah. and nice spot for the controls. i would wire 2 sets, one for strobe only and one for cathodes only. cause you can get pulled over for strobes.

the circuit board is under the hood, and the wires reach both sides. The silver switch gives total power on/off and the blue controller has a strobe on/off button, so the cathodes can be on when the strobes are off.

well like, do you have the circuit board wrapped in something or covered? and where in the engine bay did you hide it? looks like a good idea. so they flash through the actual turn signal..hmm.. what method did you use to extend the wires. I dont know much about wiring stuff.

the circuit board is wrapped in like 10ft of electrical tape so it will be fine if it gets wet and its placed on the wall right of the intake under the hood, u can see it if u look for it, but its good for now.

too extend the strobes u have to unmount them off the circuit board (hardest part of the whole thing) then solder extension wires connecting them back to the circuit board.

to unmount them u got to heat up the solder then just pull it off, but its hard because the strobes are connected to board at 3 points.

That looks sick... Could you explain to me, as you would to a 7 year old, what cathodes are, how you installed them, where you ordered them from, how you wired it, and most importantly if I can get that look with just a little less brightness... I like it, just I would like just a smidgen little bit of accent lighting.

Oh, and FYI, I did take chemistry and I know what a cathode is... But the one we demonstrated with was huge.

Cathodes are like neon but alot cheaper and made for the insides of computers. i installed them with Zip ties. Wiring is really hard to explain, but i ran wire into the center console from the battery and connected it to a switch, then just hooked the cathodes to the switch.

I ordered them from xoxide.com but i would recommend getting them from oznium.com

I can make a tutorial on how to do it all when i get the rest of my cathodes.

more info on cathodes

Looks great dude! I tried that but it felt really weird for a while with colored interior LED light so I just put the originals back in.
