Front License Plate

Does anyone know if its illegal to remove the front License plate? I removed mine, and hate to get pulled over for something stupid like that.

Thanks.

Yep, quite illegal unless your state issues only one plate.

in CA, it's *law* to have a license plate at both the front and rear of the car.

You're only required to put on a single plate if you're issued a single plate... but CA only issues single plates for trailers. Cars are always issued two plates, and therefore you got to have two plates for your car. I got a fix-it ticket for my car not having a license plate in the front, and that was about 8 months ago. I've heard (but not confirmed) recently that officers no longer give out fix-its, but real citations for a missing front-license plate.
