Bit of an update

My front rotors are warped so badly that my car feels like it's going to shake apart when I brake going down the road. Got a good deal on rotor/pads from AJUSA in the black market forum.

Pics after I get everything installed.

Are those the ones that are coated to keep them from rusting?

Not sure. From the reviews i've read about these, they'll still rust unless you take good care of them.

Ah, yea I was looking at the pic on the box. Apparently they sell some that are coated except for the contact surface so they basically stay clean and any rust on the contact area gets sheered off when you break.

Good luck though I hope they last you. Good choice not getting drilled. I'll probably go with slotted or dimpled next time I need rotors but not full drilled.

Those look like the regular zinc coated rotors. They turn silver after you bed them in. From what I've seen, the nickel plates rotors are already silver.

EBC makes pretty good stuff. Can't wait to see pics of them installed.

Old vs. New

Bonus pics

I definitely like not having warped rotors. The box said these would make a weird noise until the pads settle and it's kind of annoying, thought I did something wrong at first when I took it around the block. They've already started to lose the gold color after about 45 minutes.

Haven't had any issues with them yet and they've been on for a few months, so I like em. What went wrong with yours?

Not a fan of the stickers on the dash, but I love the rotors and the engine bay

Stickers will be gone as soon as I figure out what I want to cover the woodgrain with. I'm thinking either blue the same color as the stickers, or black.

I recently tried out silver vinyl wrap on my woodgrain. Loved it on the doors, but it looked tacky on the center unit. Too much going on.
I think a satin silver would look pretty nice though. The vinyl was too glossy.

I never did black, but I sort of tried it out. It looked too plain for my taste. There needs to be more contrast than black and grey.

Other colors like the blue you're talking about will definitely cheapen the look though

I would love to get mine marbleized

bah, you guys obsess over getting rid of that wood grain too much. I've been on a quest recently at work to find a luxury car from around the time period of our cars(1997-2003) that actually looks better inside. Aside from a few German cars, most look like shit compared to ours and most dont feel as nice either.

I've been kind of bored at work so I was already thinking of making a thread about this topic and taking pictures of all the horrid interiors I come across. It will be a tough job, mainly the concealing a camera part, but it might open some of your eyes or at least make you appreciate your CL even more. I will try to start tonight, should prove interesting.

the rotors looks sweeet, how much did you end up paying for all the stuff? if you don't mind me asking
and i agree with chris, the stickers look kinda tacky, and the door speaker grilles need some material on them again... did you take it off on purpose?

A little over $200 with shipping. The speaker material was starting to rip so I took it off.

Definitely liking the setup, just wish I had bought SS brake lines to go along with it. I went for slotted rotors because I read that drilled rotors may crack if they get real hot then splashed with water so I didn't want to risk anything. I doubt they would get hot enough just driving around town, but if I were to take it to an auto-x event then I may have issues.

oh, i see! i heard that drilled cause less breaking power! because there is less surface area! Compared to oem how much of a diffference? Is there any warranty with this brand, thanks!

Greater temp recover with a trade off of less structural endurance.

They came with a warranty, but I don't remember the specifics. I feel like there is much better 'bite' with these rotors/pads. And the green stuff pads don't give off as much brake dust as the cheap ones I had on previously.

Didn't take long at all and it was one of the easier installs I've done.

That sucks man, lol. Mine are still going strong, but I keep my stock bulbs in the glove box just in case I have to switch them out.
