Timing Belt Replacement - 1998 Acura CL 2.3l
Timing Belt Replacement - 1998 Acura CL 2.3l
Hi Guys - I am working on replacing my timing belt and water pump this weekend. I've tried reading up some of the DIY's, watching some online videos and following my Haynes manual (1998 - 2002 Honda Accord).
I've run into a snag trying to remove the lower timing belt cover. I have all 5 bolts removed. The cover is free from the engine - but I can't seem to be able to remove it from the engine bay.
The plastic tab on the cover that is used for lining up the timing marks seems to extremely limit maneuverability. The manual and online videos just state "now remove the lower timing belt cover" .. and then skips to the next section.
I don't want to break the timing belt cover. I am wondering if I have to unbolt and move the A/C compressor or partially jack the engine up or lower it?
Any suggestions or tips?
