Request: Tapping into the courtesy light's circuit

I had an idea and i need a little help. I want to tap a neon strip into the courtesy light's on the door(which i changed to black light LED's) i want to make it so when i open the door the neon strip in the footwell lights up, and turns off when the door is closed. I found the black light neon already on http://www.mobile-emotions.com Its just for show when i'm hangin out with my friends so its not gonna be on for long if that matters. I'm assuming that it would be the same to do in the trunk, so there's no way i can forget to turn it off(thats why i want to tap it into the existing switches if possible.

And also since you reading this i would also appreciate and ideas for putting those same black light's under the hood since we don't have hood lights and it really pisses me off. I would put one towards the rear on the underside of the hood and one right up near the front grille so that lights up a little. (ricey i no) i have no problem wiring the stuff up once i know what to tap into. thanx for the help

I tapped all my LED's into the corner lights/headlights. so when my lights are on, everythings on. but when you turn em off they come off. the only thing that sucks is my cupholder light and my custom lil cubby light cause it puts out too much light at the wrong angle so i need to get a switch or somethin..

and what exactly are you asking? how to tap or what wires to tap? just pull off your door panels and look at the courtesy lights, there'll prob be a red and black wire. reds positive blacks ground. yayy.

He asked what wires to tap, if you don't know the answer don't post in here man for real.

Haze, I tapped LED's on my door panels to the lights in the door panels, you could run them through to the foot wells, otherwise you would have to find the relay. There's info on it on here, search

Yes, I reccently soldered a 15" led bar onto an LED bulb that I use for my trunk light, it is only activated and on when the trunk is opened
