Magnafine PS filter
anyone installed a PS filter?...I just flushed and filled my PS fluid and it looks like dirt again after 500 miles...was considering putting in this magnafine unit but wanted to see if anyone had experience with it..also where would be a good place to splice in for a PS filter?

I guess it couldn't hurt. The only thing that would trouble me is that it is to remove ferrous material. I hope your PS system is not producing metal shavings like an auto trans. I am also not sure if the fluid moves too quickly during fast turning in which it could render the filter ineffective and blast any shavings right off the magnets.
Let us know how it works, could be interesting.

How did you flush? Did you work all the fluid out of the system with clean fluid, or just empty and refill? Having done this before, it takes a long time and a lot of working the steering back and forth to get all the nasty black fluid out

I ran continuous fresh fluid through it while turning the wheel back and fourth until I ran through 10 bottles...it still looked like ...the magnafine has a normal filter element in addition to the magnet. I figured the magnet a bonus more than anything...and for 20 bucks im willing to give it a shot...will order today and update this thread periodically with my results. thank you for ur reply
