I don't want to get in trouble with a 97er or a 98er if their clock is wired differently. I've heard that on a 97 clock the wire to cut is the Yellow one. Don't take my word for it though.

If you look in the picture you can see that I cut the yellow and the white wires before I got around to the red one....

I just spliced them back together and electrical taped them back up. Those wires are not under any tension so it isn't a biggy.

Klepto, ask DanMan. He is the one who told me to cut the yellow wire on a 97. You may want to PM him to double check though.

That's because the 97 center console is cheap as dirt. ^_^

The 98-99 clock is screwed into the center console. If you look at the step #13, you'll see that to remove the clock you have to unscrew 2 screws.

Good news every 97er out there! I decided to take a bullet for the team and test it out. I tried the red wire because I had two yellow ones and it worked. I don't know what everyone elses wires are colored but just look at musulsa's wires that he cut. Remember the position of the wires. When the plug is facing you, it's the second one from the right. Thanks Musulsa for testing it out for all of us, and also for the awesome DIYs.

Can anyone give a DIY to remove the center console for a 97 CL... I had all the screws out and I think it's screwed into the metal bracket below the deck? I don't know.. any suggestions would be great

yes, the woodgrain is just a plastic overlay for aesthetic purposes only. I dont know if you have a 97 or not but if you have a 97, all you gotta do it stick a small flathead screwdriver and pop out the square plastic piece that goes around your radio and pocket underneath

Klepto, can you get this jackass out of my thread?

People are coming here looking for tips, not to see 17 year olds who weren't trained to control their tongues.
