3.0 to 2.3 swap j30 to f23
Well I found a good price for a nearly complete swap from a donor accord. I'm just wondering if it will actually go right in if I have everything. I read somewhere (through google search and maybe a search on here) that the engine bay on the 3.0 is backwards (Doesn't make sense in my opinion.)
I just hit the 200,000 mile mark last week on a 3.0 with a rebuilt tranny that seems like it has some overheating issues. The car is well maintained and I know I can probably get another 50,000 miles out of it before the tranny completely dies.
Anyways the simple question is how difficult would it be to swap the f23 in?
This would be my first swap and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need new mounts.
Also, I basically have all parts from the accord available... what should I keep?
Sorry I tried searching for this in google and on here, but could not find a thread

from what I gather, it's going to be a lot of custom fabricating work, due to the different configuration of the engine bay. You're going to have to get custom mounts made and some other stuff. All in all, unless you're getting all the accord parts for free, you're probably better off just buying a 2.2CL with a 5speed already in it. That's kind of the crossroads where I'm at...my tranny is on its way out and I really don't want to spend another 1.5k+ to fix something that has an inherently bad design flaw from the start.
If you have access to accord parts, basically all the interior and suspension parts are interchangeable on cl's and accords, so pick and pull what you think might be a nice upgrade.

man; all that work for literally no gain. you would probably regret starting that project once you start. the set up of the bays is different...you would need new mounts, transmission, custom fabricating, relocating parts and lots of time....lots.
oh by the way; FLIP, you're not allowed to sell your car. and if you do; tell ME!
