I have hatch but im looking for a more classy car also. Im really interested in the 3.0 .but the trannies scare me. Is the 3.0 the same motor and trans in the 97 CL as in the 98 Accord (ie) 200 hp.I dont know much about the CL"s but i do work as a honda tech in tampa fl. I hate to say it but honda makes some piss poor trannies, especially V6 ones.I realy like the looks of the CL"s though.AS I am getting older, I want an auto trannie with some good power as in V6. thanks! yes, its the same engine/ drivetrain as the accord. I dont think the trannys are really all that bad, its just when you modify a car and give it more power and then abuse it thats when bad things tend to happen

For the small amount of V6 cars we sell, there seems to be a higher % of them with trans problems. I also believe that the trannies should be drained and filled much more often than manual says like every 10k miles or so.

that is true, I try to do drain mine more often if I feel like Ive been running it harder than I should (Like the whole way down to the nopi nationals in atlanta and back)

u r on web boards where ppl are pushing the car in ways acura and honda didnt intend. not to mention most of us treat are car much diff then the average owner. we like to see 6000 rpms. s o ofcourse there will be ppl with problems. if ur just buying the car and not modding it then u have nothing to worry about!!!!!!!!!
