Arrow WTB: Reverse/Flip Trunk Henges for the CL

OK, OK, OK, Before I get hear me out. I need these reverse/flip trunk henges to go along with my custom trunk setup that im designing right now. Im sure most of you prob hate the look of the flip trunk but I really need to do this inorder for my custom design & system to work.

(no I havnt decided to get them yet)

Basically, Im wondering if (1. Anyone has done this to their CL (do you have picts?) and (2. where can I find this flip trunk kit for the 1st gen CL? And (3. Ive actually heard its easy to make and you only need a few things to make it @ your local parts store...is this true?

Thanks! -CJ

If some of yo dont know what im talking about...its this...(the trunk opens a different way)

Really didnt want to spend $180 on freakin hinges though...

ive heard of alot of people having problems with the trunk seals once you do the flip flop. id hate to see your shit in the trunk get ruined after one rain. besides unless you got a bangin custom system to show off its kind of pointless. unless you have a cool ass spare tire. or a sparkomatic bass cannon.

You think that wing is functional? How bout the body kit??? No wait. He needs all that to stay on the ground due to the jets coming out of the back...That car must have a huge trunk....LMAO....

I saw this on tv. They did it with a piano hinge. I didnt watch it though cuz i never thought i would do it to my car. It was on the DIY channel i do believe. They have a show on there that they hook up/rice out imports. Its some bald dude that cracks me up.

Ok heres the thing. My custom trunk is being designed right now by myself, and the builder (a USAC multi-winner) Its going to consist of a custom enclosure for the subs, the amp, a 18"spare" and maybe a bottle....with custom cut/designed glass, neons, etc. I really like the look of the flipped trunk when you have a system because you lookin at the subs and you see the car trunk infront of you...not this big ass upsidedown underneith of the trunk....Unless you customise that underneith part too. Which i had not planned to do, but I guess I could with a screen or somethin...

I mean, i might still get the kit, try it and deside if i like it. (maybe i can find a used one) Yea, I mean the one ^above^ lets you switch from OEM to flop. So I'd only flop it if i was at a show. I mean, it if was on the OEM setting...you think the trunk would still have issues with leaking? <--(cuz if its gonna leak, hell no im not doin it.)

Im talking about the trunk setup....I wasnt putting gauges or a turbo in the trunk....I was never talking about a turbo anyway...and yes, I'll still be getting some gauges.

What I ment by "TV" is now i'll have to put one in the trunk lid instead of doing the "flip trunk"

Soo speaking of 17" flat panel and tv's in the trunk. Is there anything i should know before buying one, or are they all the same? Reason im asking...seems like with a tv in the trunk with all that bass, the bass would F* up the tv and like ruin the screen....true or not true?

Theres not like a special screen u have to get that can handle a lot of vibration/bass is there??

I'd say not true, most LCD screens, designed to be in a car can handle vibrations. The liquid crystal won't get screwed up as far as I know. I've seen many different brands of LCD monitors in cars, and I basically see that they're all the same as far as specs go. The features are what are different, as well as resolution specs.

well, im working on a mold... basically wut it is the whole panel will be fiberglassed and bolted [which you wont see]. the back cover of the screen will sit there with the mold of the backside of the trunk and it will be one piece. Therefore the screen will be IMPOSSIBLE to fall! There now pay me for consulting fees lol.

btw, if your not gonna do this, dont even think bout putting a screen there...

And. u can fit a 17inch, just make sure u know how to run the wires and seal up the carpet[if your still using it]
