Would you trade a 97 CL for a 00 Integra?

Guys, my mom was going to buy a car for my little sister for her 17th birthday next week. My mom saw a 2000 Integra for 5,000. Knowing that my sister likes my car a lot she asked me if I want I can have the Integra and I can give my CL to my sister.

The Integra is a 2000 Integra automatic and has 88,000 miles. (I forgot what model Integra it was but it had Leather andwasn't the GSR).

My CL is a 1997 Acura CL 3.0 automatic and has 131,000 miles.

Less miles and a newer year make it appealing, but the downsides would be that my CL already has rims, carbon-fiber hood, music system, and a drop. So I've put in a good deal of money already. On the other hand, the Integra would provide a blank sheet to work with and there are tons of parts for Integra's including Engine Swaps which would be a lot easier and a lot of nice bodykits. Two things that I can't really do with my 3.0 CL (no easy swaps and only CL bodykit is not to my liking).

Should I do it? Would you do it?

Not that one I would..Sounds like the Integra SE which would really piss you off since it's slow as hell. Tell your mom to search for a CL there will be plenty in the price range of 2000 integra.

If it's an SE, and not a type r or gsr then it's not worth your time even from a 2.2 it's still kind of a downgrade. I'd keep my CL, course I have lots of time and money into mine and it's a 3.0. I'll tell u that most kids in CL's stop and check out my CL and I don't usually check out their teggies

I think the Integra is a GS. I just went to look at and it's in great shape. I belive the GS's are non-vtec. Does anyone know how hard it is to put a VTEC B-series engine & tranny in a non-VTEC integra?

Keep the CL zero, especially if you've got the sweet carbon sitting over the engine...

unless you're willing to drop mad cheese into rebuilding the teg from scratch..

I love my CL... but, an easily modded car that weighs only 2000 pounds I could never touch an automatic tho. Real men drive stick

Why wouldn't you be able to take the rims and system off the CL and put them on the Integra?? Not saying I would....Only way I'd trade is for a GSR or ITR 5spd.

I would trade it if it wasnt auto and the crappy version. I am currently selling my CL to get a 2001 Integra 4-Door GS-R. (My car will be different. The blue that is on this car is so rare on 4-door integras) And putting a vtec head on that motor is EASY!!! can be done in like 2 hours. B-SERIES IS WHERE ITS AT! so easy to work on.

Especially for an AT Integra, auto makers should not be allowed to make AT 4 cylinders as this could result in death when merging into highway traffic!

CL is a more luxurious car and almost definitely has better ride quality at higher speeds. 3.0 AT will be faster than that Integra as well, although may not handle as well. Honda has always been MT FTW anyways.

EDIT: I was thinking about an Integra/Prelude/CivicSi awhile back and ended up with the 95 Legend Coupe 6MT Type II (230hp). More power, more luxurious FTW.

Guys, thanks for the advice, I actually had agreed to go throught with the Integra swap but when I was about to give my car to my sister and I was showing her my car in detail (i.e. all the mods I've done), I got this "guilty" feeling like when you cheat on your girlfriend or you've lied to someone, anyways in the end I actually realized that I've become really attached to my car and that I couldn't get rid of it unless I was getting into something that was a significant improvement which the Teg wasn't.
