Windshield Wipers

hey all, the base of my windsheild wipers, not the actual wiper blades, are turning silver. Should I just take them off and paint them with some black spray paint or is their a better way of doing it to make the paint last, thanks, any help would be appreciated. O, and I de-emablized my car but have a shadowing effect from where the acura and 3.0 were, is there a polish i can use to try to get it off, i want to use wax but some were sayin to use polish first, what kind should i use, thanks!!!

Sup binny, long time no see. You can just take the arms off and paint them, they lift up and off. I'm gonna be doing that soon too. As for the emblems, the shadows go away, just wash it, and wax, you'll be fine.

I took mine off and sprayed a few coats of Rust-Oleum High Performance flat black on (I used the same paint for my calipers)

I actually saw a large portion of my driver side wiper turning silver so I sanded it all down and put some high temp flat black spray paint on there and it's good to go!

worked really well

still looked good 3 years after I painted the wipers & calipers (up until I traded it)

cleaned the surface pretty good, then put on about 3 coats

you can find the paint at Lowe's or Home Depot for less than $5 a can

I'm getting it installed at Auto Illusions down in pittsburgh behinde the airport on the 17th!!! I'll be posting pics of my car after it is installed, I have to get a new digital camera first...sorry for not being more active but i have been so busy lately at work, I try to get in here as much as I can, I don't know shit about cars so I really can't help anyone...LOL, so I just post in here when I have an issue with my car, I am posting something now about my suspension in another thread, did that group buy ever work out, did you get your hood yet, i'd like to see a pic of the actual hood on a car....

I suppose you could take them off, but I didn't

most of the work was in the prep time:
jack the car up
get the rims off (I did mine 1 caliper at a time)
clean the caliper
mask everything off (I even masked off my quarter panels and doors in case of drifting paint....since my CL was white)
3 coats of paint (which dries pretty quick)........done

cleaning up the wiper arms & calipers is one of the best mods for very little money
