will lowering car void warranty?
I'm about to drop my car. I'm also thinking that this will void the warranty and that sucks cause I got the extended warranty. Can someone back me up on this? Will it void the ENTIRE warranty or just the suspension components?

if you use comptech and if its dealer installed.... acura recognizes comptech as an official acura dealer... you are 100% ok...
dealers blame mods for problems, but you can fight anything they dont warranty as long as they cant prove that the mod was a reason for the problem.. make sense to you... not sure if i wrote that clearly

well for me i lowered my car once and when i took it to get maintenance...they put a note that it was lower...later when i raised it back up they put a note that it was back to normal...now...i messed up my shocks...so even if i asked the dealer to cover under warranty they are gonna say because that time period i had it lowered caused the shocks to wear out faster (which it did), but there is like almost no way i can win this one...so i have to get new shocks...

oh i called the dealership the other day ...they said that putting on something like springs or intake doesnt void any warranty...but say if that intake breaks the ac line and doesnt work like it did to my friend, the ac is no longer under warranty because the intake broke the line....but if you know wats wrong with it put it back to stock first so when they see it ...its stock and they have no way of proof that u put after market intake on...my stupid freind realized taht one too late...so...just watch out..but springs should be fine for your car...

dealerships will always try and blame the mods.. even if its not directly involved, they'll try and get that edge and say it was... my friend works at a dealership and when i went in for servicing on what i thought was a prob(but wasnt) the mechanic said that it was because of my intake and that it would not be covered... well my friend is business manager and he grabbed the mechanic in front of me and told him to find and fix the problem if there was one and stop feeding customers that BS!!!!

hey what up people? i just called the warranty company (honda corp) and asked being that i installed springs, shocks. air intake, will this affect my extended warranty i purchased. they said that it will. if anything were to happen to my suspension or engine they will not authorize it to be fixed. i said to them, dont they have to prove that infact the after market part was the caused of the problem, and they said no. once i changed the factory part that voided the warranty. should i cancel my warranty which i'm still paying for....

Yes, you could save some money now by not having the extended warranty. However, If something major was to happen and you take it to get fixed and the dealer tells you that component would have been fixed if the car was still under warranty, well.. Let's just say you won't be happy. Like I said in an earlier tread, when I asked the dealer about the extended warranty, they said that only those components would not be covered. If that weren't the case, all the minor mods like changing your front clears or your front bulbs would void your entire warranty.... that wouldn't make any sense.

Casper is the person with the Hook-up there, but he doesn't care to share! j/k
I generally go to the service managers who know me, just from going there. I can't say that I know anyone that I would "recommend".

No problem, although I know it wasn't too much help. We should have a meet at Acura of Westchester and see if we can all get hooked up from Casper's friend!
How 'bout it Casp? You gonna set that up?
