Who hates chrome??
Who hates chrome??
I do, I do!!
So I decided to paint the chrome trim around my doors and rear quarter windows. I got the idea from Cocoa way back in the day but I hadn't actually got around to doing it until now... I've always hated the look of the chrome trim on my car because I find that it doesn't fit right with the cypress green being that it's a dark color. I also pulled off my trunk (A) emblem and painted it black.... if it looks ghey, I'll paint it cypress green and it'll be stealthy
.... anyways, here are the pics...

Just in case someone wants to do this mod, take your time taping around the trim. And dont forget to mask ALL your car. I learned the hard way yesterday when I had to clay bar the whole car
I used paint from the hardware store (3-4 coats) and I scuffed it with a 3M scuff pad (the red one) before painting...
Comments welcome

its very nice looking, I do hate chrome too, but I was kinda fond of the trim of the doors and all that, it kinda added contrast on the black body, but still looks pretty good black on the green background
Dude, that looks NICE! I always wanted some motivation to do this but never really seen pics of it on a cyprus green pearl! I'm doing it when I get back to San Antonio for sure!
I don't understand why Acura didn't put trim on the rear window as well as the sides. I thought about looking into adding it to my rear window. Meh...
I'm feelin' the black on your car though, acuratl_2nr. Lets see some more pics.

Here are some daytime pics.... the car is pretty dirty due to parking under a tree last night.

The (A) is in the garage, I have to put it on later and I'll also repaint my front grille...

As for the shiftknobs, I only have three in the car right now
I've got the DC2 Type R one, then the RSX one and a JDM prelude SRV one (same as stock CL one but with added JDM'ness). Both the RSX and Prelude ones are drilled on the inside so they sit lower on the shifter. I have the stock CL one that a friend of mine borrowed and I think I have another random one somewhere. Don't mind the pics, interior of the car is really dirty...
