Who has had their side skirts painted?!
Ok, so today i went around getting some quotes on getting my front/side/rear skirts painted. The lowest i got was around $250. But every person said that because of the material of the side skirts...rock chips would just strip the paint off. I knew of this before...but doesnt sanding it down eliminate this problem? I asked them this, and they said the rock chips would still be a problem. So, what should I do? are the rock chips gonna be that bad? and is the sanding down really gonna do nothing?

ENGAGE MY VTEC BABY!!!!!!
my uncle owns a body shop and i will take him my pieces next week but i asked him about that and he said if they paint it right and dont do a shitty job then it shouldnt chip at all if you take car of it and clean the car and keep the paint nice then it shouldnt.

Not a bad idea...You should post up in the photoshop and have someone do it for ya...I'll give it a try when I get home on Monday and post up some pics with a black CL with white and silver painted skirts...

yeah thats me and im in the process of goin back to all black.
painted it myself with plastic-kote paint from pep boys. cleaned and sanded them down first. then used bulldog adhesive promoter, painted em. sanded on the 3rd coat, painted it a 4th, then clear coted em 4 times. held up for 1.5yrs through snow , salt, rocks, etc. cost me bout $60 and a day of my time

Mine's been done for a couple years too and it held up pretty good- i doubt they did much sanding- just sprayed em... i was having a few things replaced and touched up after hitting a deer so they hooked 'em up for $100...
Hey VXCL... i still haven't bumped into you anywhere- i would've noticed the color... pretty surprising as i'm all over Jersey.

I'm pretty sure the front skirt (and I think maybe the rear skirt) are one piece molded with the bumper. My bumper is painted and lasted almost 6 years now...so i don't see why it would chip easier on the skirts
