What's the Deal With Wings West?????

So I'm looking high and low for a Wings West Front Lip Spoiler (ww-890288) and I see them everywhere but no one has them in stock. So I called up Caliente Automotive Concepts in CA and spoke with the guy.

Apparently, WW was bought out by another company, VIC (I think) performance and they actually stopped production of all of thier product lines while negotiations were takiing place. It wasn't till recently they started production. However, they have raised thier retail price of everything by 35% and here's the best part, they got rid of thier distributors and only deal with resellers. How does that affect us, the consumers? Good question! Well this is how it affects us. It's simple economics101. Since there are no distributors, no one company can buy from WW, say 50,000 units of thier products there getting quanities discount. No sir! Instead, WW, or at least the parent company, makes the resellers buy the products individually from them and have the product shipped directly from the company at actual shipping cost!...Them Bastards!!!!

So, if you want the part real bad, I guess you'll shell out the $$. Supply and demand I guess. Besides, WW is the only company out there that I have found that makes a decent front lip that doesn't scream "RICE BURNER". Let's face it, Our CLs our classy cars, yet sporty. I should of bought the damn spoiler when I order the car in 1999. It was only a $250 option then and it came painted and installed!!! I for one do not want to degrade the look of my CL by putting on a kit that looks like an extra from the fast and the furious.

Does anyone out there know of anyone else selling the spoiler and have it instock at a decent price shipped? Or, have one that they're getting rid of? Thanks in advanced!

"292.45 picked up" GOT damn...youre right^^^^they are $$$,

Im not sure if machiii.net still deals with ww bodykits but a while ago, they were the best deal i could find anywhere on ww kits and pieces (atleast the ones i was looking for, the rs). Just email them on their website and ask them, the owner is ray chang i belive, what kind of deal he can give you.

dont these kits need to be cut, or am i remembering wrong? Just trying to brush up

i said that to show you i'm located close to it so i can ask them any questions you had since its a lot easier to talk to someone face to face than over the phone... but since you decided to be know-it-all you can worry about that shit yourself

as for the $$$ part... if i can afford to buy one without denting my wallet, a 21-year-old like yourself shouldn't have much of a problem getting one as well.

Hey Dragon, Are you saying that a 95-97 accord bumper would fit the CL? Does it need cutting or special fitting or anything like that?

It will need to be custom fitted which isnt too hard for a good shop and then you can get any kind of accord lip. Depending on how long you gonna keep the car I don't think it's worth it IMO..

Age doesn't have anything to do with how much disposable income you have. Since I'm 5 years older than you, I should have a lot more money than you, but actually I just have a lot more debt than you.

ok.. i'm 18 and i'm paying for my own housing and tuition to go to UCI. that basically means i am paying for my own food, my own room, and my own education. maybe its just me, but i believe there are plenty of opportunities and there should be no reason to hear about something being TOO expensive...

let the flaming begin

OMG, this one post could make this thread like 8 pages long. Not everybody get's the same opportunities as others. You can't expect everyone to be able to live a comfortable life just cause you do. I hope college teaches you something...or maybe you can only learn it through life experience...which you don't have much of.

just curious, what are you doing for income? What's your rent, etc? Did you get a loan for school or not?

why would you laugh? Idiots have asked those questions for years, way before you even found this forum. We laughed at them just as much as we laughed at you.
