pspec is the "best" from what I am told on here, if you have about $250. A lot of people have done the prelude short shifter cuz it's cheap

thats what i did, make your own with 4 bucks in parts from home depot and its pretty much the same thing, just not so pretty. but as long as u put ur shifter boot back on, no one will see anyway. hope that helps

if you want a quality piece of work, PSPEC is the way to go. Its gonig to cost alot more than a prelude shifter, but damn i'll tell you its so worth it. When other people drive my car the first thing they ask me about is the SS.

if you're looking to save a couple bills and just want the functionality of a ss then I guess go for it. You can buy a nice boot and any knob you want afterwards too, which should make up for it.

Personally though, like I've already stated, I would go for the full package

I'm getting the Forbidden SS only for the fact that I can utilize my stock knob and boot.

how do aftermarket boots fit with short shifters? I have yet to find one that would look nice... without making a "garbage bag" around the shifter.

lol... there isn't anything red in my car. I'm real critical, I hate when things don't match. So I'll keep it stock till I find a boot/knob combo I'm pleased with.

WHens the last time you cleaned your interior ?

that pic was taken right after the install... over half a year ago I've cleaned it plenty since

And yea, you're right about matching the interior... very important to me too.

The only problem with the pspec one is that you have to use thier knob. It has its own thread pattern. The prelude shifter can be had fairly cheap. Then with the prelude one you can use any threaded knob. Plus the prelude shifter will save you some money.
Im gonna go the prelude route as soon as i can find one.

you could always re-thread the p-spec shifter, or get one of the "universal" knobs.

Still a lot of money though...

more than a month old.... but the PSPEC shifter is the OEM specs... i only purchased the SS itself... i like the OEM shift knob... and it screws right on. You can use ur old boot, just readjust it with some zipties or something, or just get a new boot. but i just wanted to let u guys know.... the SS works with OEM Shift knobs... the threading is the same. i think what doesn't work is if you get their shift knob, u need their boot, no others will work. But I repeat... OEM shift knobs work!
