what size filter to use for AEM intake?

for you guys with AEM intakes. Just got my short ram in the mail today, it was just the piping, not filter. What size filter should I get? I measured the inlet and its 2.5" but most stores only carry K&N 3" not 2.5" Would a 3" work anyways since im clamping it down?

Looking up on the AEM website, it gives the spec for the 3.0 at 2.75" I looked that up for my bypass valve, that is also the size of my K&N, but I'd assume a 3.0 would work as long as you clamp the hell out of it.

They sell these rubber things at Home Depot that you can use to step up the diameter. I'll give you a part # if you want (and if I can find it).
