What should I do?

I just got a 1997 Acura Cl 2.2 with the Premium Package and an automatic tranismition.
I was wondering what some of you would recomend as some things i can do to the car. It is totally stock and has a tape player so i dont know what kind of deck i could get.
Thank you all.

can you drive yet

as far as headunits go, the sky is the limit. Alpine is my choice on head units, they are the most stock looking and great quality. They have units from 100-2000$. look around the site a bit, there is a noob guide somewhere, that covers clear corners, cai's, tint, etc.

have fun and be safe...

(woah, i was nice to a noob)

Well my birthday is next month and my dad bought be the car. He wouldn't let me have his '05 WRX STI that i wanted so he got me a Cl. The Cl is going in the shop next week to get the paint buffed and shined, and the paint is black. I have a limited amount of money but it is an on-going project. Im not looking for anything too outragous or anything but something nice and reasonable. I would like some rims, an audio system, and a spoiler (i dont know where to find a spoiler) and mabey some engine mods. I dont know of what kind or what to get of anything. Also if i get a new head unit what can i put in replace of the tape player?

huge vinyl graphics and a lot of stickers. The more the better, that way people will know that you have all these cool parts. Dont worry if you dont really have any of the parts, people will still think it and think that youre cool. Then get one of those big wings, that way your car can go really fast. Dont drop it, because you'll lose that stock ride quality. Just leave it stock height and get some 100 spoke gold rims. Get them really wide too so that they stick out from the fender. Wider is def better anyways after that you can go on to engine mods. But theyre kinda expensive so just get like an imitation intercooler and that thing that makes the BOV noise. if you want you can splurge and get an exhuast, just get the muffler, make it really big so that people will be scared when they see it. You can also get a body kit. Get the black widow one, i heard it looks really pimp

Klepto, you couldn't trick him...or did you...

Don't do any of what he said, unless you really do want to stand out.
Your SN is 2.2Clean, so keep it clean.

They have dash kits that're like plastic that cover a 1 1/2 or double din....Cars without tape decks had this little flap with storage space (for eyeglasses and such) underneath the CD player, you may find one on ebay.

I've bought the lowest end Alpine deck (the $130 one) twice (my first one got stolen out of my supra).....it's a very nice deck for the money.

ahh, you have passed my rice test. Welcome to the boards.

like nippon said there are many differnt areas that you can start modding, its all up to you and your needs as to what you want to pursue first. I'll just let you know what my plans were/are

I started out with my sound system because I love music and listening to my music with a lot of bass. I didnt buy everything at once, i kinda pieced it together as the money came in, you can check my sig for my mods.

After that I went onto suspensions because I couldnt stand how high it looked, after that I saved up and made my first big purchase, my rims

After that I just got some minor stuff, upgraded brakes, some tv's I was saving up for the next big thing which im 2/3rds of the way there, a lip kit. I just got my front and sides on and now its time to save up for the rear

People always ask me why I dont mod the engine. To tell you the truth, its just not worth it for me right now. To dropp $250 on an intake that bumps up my hp to a whopping 148hp just isnt the best way I can spend the money. Im going to concentrate on making the car look and sound good, before the engine. But def in the future I'm going to mod the engine, just when everything else is taken care of.

So i would say to you, what do you really need first? what do you want? A fast car? A more "show" car? It all depends on what your motives are

I live in Richmond Hights and attend Clayton High School. I would love to put a spoiler on and some rims and a drop kit (how is this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...977924647&rd=1)
I dont know much about cars so most of the work will be hired labor (although i would love to learn but they dont have a auto class at my school) I guess #1 is the sound system, I dont mean to be repetative but I cant find anything "decent" to fill the Din space. I would love an alpine head unit with the ipod adaptor and some subs (would it be smart to get new spearkers also?) I really liked these rims ( http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_p...ID=1&ss_id=362 ) Does anyone know an estimate on how much they cost? It dosn't say on the site. Also Klepto i was wondering do you have a custom enclosure for your subs? As i said this is an ongoing project and all sugestions are greatly appericeated.

haha those are the exact rims that divine has. Im assuming that a set of 18's with tires would run you ~$1200. I'd stay away from no name brand coilovers. Either get a reputable set of springs/shocks (eibach, neuspeed, h&r / kyb, koni) or save up for a reputable coilover set (tein, d2, omnipower.)

for the headunit, i have a pioneer and it works just fine, my roomate recently bought a nice, cheap alpine headunit that plays mp3s for like $130. If youre gonna get subs, id get a new set of speakers first because when you turn it up its gonna sound like crap with the stock speakers and new subs. I dont have a custom enclosure, its just a regular ported box.

Yea i saw those rims on Divines car and i thought hey looks nice but not to flashy.
I've read alot on the board that coilovers are better than springs and shocks but how big of a difference is there besides 400 dollars. I want to do the job right the first time rather than messing something up and end up having more expenses for no reason. Also the lower end Alpines dont support the ipod addaptor.

I also like this Muffler http://www.cardomain.com/item/MGF14805 but i dont know if you have any sigustions on any different ones that would be great, i kind of want to keep the stock look with the dual tip but as i said i dont want a 6 in' rice muffler.

I like the muffler XXX has. His was tight cause it looked factory but a shit load better. I know someone else on the board had the same one, but painted the muffler part black and left the tips chromed. Here's the muffler in question:

As for my first mod, I would definately drop it first before anything else. You can get a set of good used springs and shocks off of ebay for cheap if you look hard enough. Or you may be able to get a set off of a member of the boards.

Anyways, good luck and welcome

Damn, he never said what model number it was, just that it was a Magnaflow. I'd check their site and see which muffler looks close enough to this one. Personally, its one of my favorites, I just wish I knew what model no. it was.

I am chill, and I know its not a spelling bee. It just makes it easier to read things if they're spelled properly.
