what kind of inside speakers are you guys running?
so im in the process of upgrading my system again. i wanted to go with either RE or Focal for the inside...but the problem is, especially with RE, the 6.5s have a huge mount depth. so i wanted to see if you guys did anything custom stuff to make speakers with a large mount depth fit in the door and in the rear deck...heres the speakers that i want.

what do you guys think?...any suggestions on how i can make these work?...im switching out my pioneer subs for a pair of sundowns. wanted to take care of the inside first tho

I'm running old audiobahn competition speakers, but the magnets are massive. To fit in the doors, all I had to do was cut out the back side of the baskets

For the rear deck, I had to bend the trunk springs bracket down, they rub a bit on the magnets, but never had an issue

bro when you cut the back of the brackets on the doors how close is it to the window? i bought spacers for the doors just in case (they were cheap anyway). i went with image dynamics 6.5s and 6x9s and i swear the magnets are huge. but the only thing im worried about is the fronts and the magnets getting in the way of the window. you think ill still be able to put the stock grill on (the one with the fabric)

so you dont think id need the spacers? i mean they were only like 4 bucks for the pair. sounds like ill definitely need the spacers for the 6x9s tho.
so you just completely removed the baskets then? and you dont even use them?..

I don't think you'll need the spacers for either. I have a box of spacers that I bought for this car and never used a single one. You need the baskets in the doors, you just have to cut out the back lip.
