I have the Ingalls setup, but whenever I hit a bigger bump they slam against the shock tower. So far there's been no damage, which I why I'm happy I went with D2s... They're true racing coils and they can take a beating. If I end up keeping the car though, I'm going to completely replace the upper control arms with something adjustable.

You guys say the camber i have isn't a big deal, then what the hell is causing my handling to suck so bad since putting the lowering springs and 18" rims on? My car will no longer correct itself out of a turn if i get on the throttle. It just continues to turn.

What were the results from the frame shop?

It's your negative caster causing your wheel to not want to correct itself on it's own. I think I've said that a million times already, since the very first thread you made. No one here can diagnose your car via internet. Only give out opinions based on past experiences and/or what they've learned in the field. We can all give educated guesses/answers. But in the end, you still need to take it to a shop.

"Caster affects straightline stability and steering wheel return. High positive caster makes the front wheels want to go straight ahead. A normal amount of positive caster provides stability and makes the steering wheel straighten out after turning."

"Ride Height

Strictly speaking, ride height is not an alignment angle. It can, however, affect other angles, especially caster."

Your car should pull to the left based on your specs, assuming you have equal tire pressure all the way around. Thus making left turns easy to make, but hard to straighten. The opposite should occur when making right turns. Just my observation.

What did the frame shop find?

I wasn't able to go because apparently the one listed online that is down the street from my work doesn't exists (anymore)

I had a previously planned date with my GF in boston (so we drove her car there)
and then I had to work immediately upon my return, i'm gonna have to make it a plan/concrete goal to go to a frame shop on monday, in fact i'm going to call and get an appointment now.

I'm going to order that camber crap today, hopefully it'll come in early next week.

well i just got my alignment done.. my toe and caster were spot on.. toe on all four corners was only .02-.03 off of oem standard.. my camber is -1.1, -1.0 in the front.. i can most certainly live with that.

mine looks to be coming from the passenger wheel well forward, or from the shock tower, but i still haven't figured it out

do you guys happen to go to automated car washes? Just a guess, I have trouble with my headlights filling with water whenever I get an under body wash.

oh, That has to be a sizable leak than, I'd dry it all out and drive in some more rain to find it. Some silicon sealant should fix whatever it is. I know you said it probably is the plug there, but sometimes you get surprised.

I'm going to go ahead and throw this in here as well. Only because this thread relates to suspension.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXKUd8oCKSQ

This was at GMR, the mountain pass where my friends and I use to run. 99% of the time, it's not the car, it's YOU.

Didn't want to make a thread about it, as much as I wanted to. But it's just something I wanted to throw out there.

This is a fine example of having a superior handling car, and not knowing the basics of driving. I can't mention how often I see threads in regards to handling/suspension for opinions. The best advice I can give, is to learn how to drive fast first (legally of course).

If you notice, his lines were horrible, and he was already inducing understeer on a couple turns prior to the accident.

Nathen, can't wait to see what they find. Goodluck man. I'm more then sure this will do the trick.

I think the leaking is beacause I took my seats out, I think they plug it up, I can see a hole that goes down to the ground, but it looks like a factory drilled hole. That's good news at least

Wow that guy in the GTR was terrible, I saw him being terribad from the start. As soon as the evo went through the last turn, I knew that was going to do him in. The GTR driver does not understand downhill turns for sure.

As for your leak, the "hole" that goes to the ground, is it threaded? It's probably the 10mm you took out to remove the lower seat.

Okay so now the second goddamn time I take it back to the alignment, after installing the camber it, NOW they notice that my front tie rods are frozen and started stripping when they hit em with a torch so they need to be replaced. HOPEFULLY getting these replaced will do some significant good.

Unhappy This looks like it's the end.

Okay so even more epicly bad news. Brought the car to my moms mechanic who is way more legit than mine, i added up the parts for just the drivers side steering/suspension and its going to be around $500 for that side alone.

He just called me to tell me that he wouldn't bother fixing it because of how old the car is and that he figured parts alone are going to run me at least $1,000. Money I'll never get back. At least he didn't already order shit and start working on it to rip me off.

upper lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods, some knuckle thing on the tie rod (forgot what it was called) some broken bearing i think he said too.

I don't even know what to do right now, my gf dumped me and now its like i don't even know her, which is making me wicked depressed, so that really isn't helping in this situation either, i'm losing my head.

I really don't think u need all new control arms and all the other shit, I would guess some tie rods and maybe wheel bearings, u just got all new bushings right?

Dude's making a pretty penny on those parts, find out what u really need, and then see if he'll just charge you labor to install them, then get your parts for cost, that's what I do 90% of the time

Well I wasn't really thinking he was trying to rip me off considering he said "if I were you I wouldn't bother doing it"

because he could have just gone ahead and ordered the parts...
