yeah this is true...I think the cars i'm gonna look for are a 01-04 VW GTI 1.8t, possibly a Jetta 1.8t, although most are kind of under-styled unless you get the right year/edition, possibly an 02 wrx, and a 03 cl-s 6. I also like the 03 mazdaspeed proteges, but they are pretty underbuilt from the factory, took a 140 horsepower 2 liter 4 cylinder, and make 170 horsepower with 6 psi of boost..lot of the forums for them reccomend nothing more than 10 psi since the internals are so weak... kind of sad in the eyes of tuners.

local small car dealer got an 02 vw gti 1.8t in the other day so I went there and test drove it, and it was definitely a fun car. I'm pretty certain I want either a GTI or jetta now. Car had 55k miles and only a intake and boost gauge. Downside is it has a prior salvage title, so i'm looking into the carfax now, but the title makes me pretty much completely turned off

well it's a rinky dink dealer, has about 20 cars on the lot..it's a prior salvage title not salvage, if there is a difference? I'm not sure but it looks absolutely brand new so I'm gonna check the carfax through my dad, since he is a car salesman at a GM dealer, so free carfax for me

GTI's are fun cars just stay away from it if it's salvaged... There are plenty more, keep looking.

So not only are you gonna buy a VW, you're gonna buy a salvaged VW? Wow that's like playing Russian Roulette with a bullet in every chamber.

I would say look for a MT IS300 but they are still obnoxiously overpriced. Always liked those cars.

alright guys so i've been talking to a couple people that have had gti's, or mk4 models...one guy has an r32 that i've talked to in person a bunch with and really my thoughts now are that I should realistically get something under 6 grand. Might be hard to find one of those for that much, although i'm looking. I found a Florida 99 civic si, with just a few tasteful mods, and I was thinking if say you put a 50-75 wet shot of nitrous on there, how perky it would be? I'm kind of thinking i'd like something that can run a high high 13.8-13.9 in the quarter..and my local car club is going in august for a big event so i'd like to have something I could bring but anyways, what do you guys think as far as possible 13 sec cars that are under 6 grand? I also am looking at a ek civic coupe with an h22a...that on nitrous would probably be fun, but also decent on all motor.

Also the nitrous route might not be a bad idea since in the winter I can take stuff out and its a reliable car ya know..

I don't know if a 75 shot would get you into the 13's. The 99-00 Si's are good cars and can take a beating. They were also the import poster car of the early 00's and just about ever one of them has been modded. So just about every one of them has probably been driven pretty hard.

An all motor H22 EK would probably run 13's with just the standard i/h/e. $6k isn't a lot of money, but you could probably do it if you look around.

ya 9k is a little high if I went that route..but yeah it only has 68k miles and is tastefully modded and hes asking 5800, so i'm not too worried. It's on a forum and he was asking more to begin with, but it dropped. And ya a si with even a 75 would probably be low 14s you're right. Anywho that's my backup plan car if I don't find anything else cool :P

New car!

CL is now officially for sale on a corner.

Rims are American racing, i'm not too fond of them but they aren't bad. Car is otherwise stock besides tint.

Damn, you and Carson with your V6 stangs......I don't see why you guys like those cars enough to replace the CL. Now if it was a GT, that would be pretty tight. But judging by the hood, it's not.

Does looks like it's in pretty good condition tho. Hope it does you well.

the hood was only different on the 99 cobra, the GTs and V6s had the same hood and side 35th anniversary badges.

The GTs had a little hood scoop. The V6s had the hood vent like in the pic.
I was looking for '99 - '04 stangs profusely before getting my CL. I know alot about them.
Would have gotten a nice GT if my parents didn't make me pay insurance..

I would never buy a V6...let alone a auto V6. It's a 99 Mustang GT (4.6L V8, with the PI heads compared to mid 90's models) 5 speed. 78 k miles on it and it drives and runs great. Nice and stock and only has the tint, window sun deflectors and the wheels. Tread only has about 20% on it, so i'm thinking about getting a different set of wheels with good tires instead of putting new rubber on these. I'm still deciding which ones though..so if anyone has any decent ideas I'm open. My bro has an 03 cobra and I really like the look of the powder silver/gray SVT 5 spoke wheels, so something similar to that is what i'm thinking. Oh and the hood on the GT's had just the fake hood scoop with the plastic black mesh untill 2000 or 2001 I think.

Weird, looks like you're right on the 1999s. All the GTs I've ever seen had the little hood scoop vs the hood vent. like this

and this

Also my friends sexy GT. His white GT also had the hood scoop before he wrecked it.

Since Connor's stang is a GT, looks like you're right. Guess it was an option?
I've personaly never seen a GT without the hood scoop or a V6 with the hood scoop.

I'm pretty sure in 99 they both used the honeycomb mesh fake hood vent..I guess it just makes for more of a sleeper on the street for me
