Yup, sold her.. I wanted $3,750 and the guy was on the edge there so I just said $3,600 cause of the torn boots then he agreed. I payed $3,000 for the car 3 years ago so I just made alot of money haha.
Now I'm stuck with the '98 Toyota Sienna. It kinda sucks....just ask Nate..lol

Worked on my homelink project, ended up getting it all screwed in and then realized that the board seperated from the rest of the assembly so I had to rip it out and gorilla glue it together.

I washed the CL after a 1000 mile round trip to Import Alliance. The car took a beating. 3 people plus a trunk full of bags in a car that already has only a few inches of ground clearance made for an interesting trip. Also, 80 mph @ 4k RPM = 23 mpg.

Surprisingly I didn't bend a wheel or blow out any shocks on those shit roads. I did however completely flatten out the header. We had this brilliant idea on the way home to drive through the Tail of the Dragon. Our soundtrack was tires rubbing and exhaust scraping when in the corners and Avenged Sevenfold for a brief moment in the short straight aways. I should have some pictures and a short video to post in the next couple days.

The car needs an alignment in the worst way. I took the front wheels off after work today. I'll be lucky to get 10k miles at this rate.

^damn, spend all that money on motor, wheels, and tires and you can't get a $50-100 alignment
toe will kill your tires... and i want to know how much camber you're running

and how was import alliance? i was thinking about going there, but no one else wants to take any vacation right now

werd...it's all about toe...get that thing up on an alignment rack ASAP

I don't know if you have a firestone near you, but I got a lifetime alignment with them for 115 dollars...probably one of the best investments I've ever made on this car

disassembled the front wisers today in preparation for dropping them off for lip refinishing manana...so decided to hand strip each rivet of the faded gold with dremel (most had little to no gold after about 15 years), then nickel plate and 24k plate each rivet by hand (I have a gold plating machine/solution).

About 5 hours, 80 bolts, and 4 coats of 24k later...

not looking forward to doing the rears

It's tough finding time to get an alignment. I tried two local shops and neither one would attempt it. They both said I needed a recessed rack but couldn't tell me where to find one. I joined a local car forum and was told there's a Sears about an hour from my house who can do the alignment.

You should have came out IA. It was supposedly another record breaking year. We only stayed for about 4 hours on Saturday. It was too hot and I forgot to take chairs. There was something like 6 hotels all grouped together where we stayed and each one was packed full of imports. Even after the show was over everyone was hanging out in the parking lots till like 2 am. Then there were jack asses doing burnouts and racing down the street which got everyone in trouble.

I was the only 1st gen CL at the show which was both unique and disappointing.

I'll look for a Firestone. I think there's one at the local mall. That lifetime alignment sound like a good deal.

Dropped her off at the mechanics this morning for new rotors and pads all-around.

In nearly 7 1/2 months of owning the car I've...

stereo - Sony head unit - infiniti speakers in front - alpines in rear

new radiator

new cv axles

new hoses, belts and fluids

timing belt/water pump and tune

new windshield

wetsand headlights

As my daily driver with a serious commute - I'm putting miles on her at a rate of 30k per year. I plan to own her for 2 1/2 years going from 85k to 160k at which point I give it to my kid. That's the plan anyways - she'll need some tires probably around November.

So I pick up the CL from the mechanic yesterday and I see another one at his shop. "Oh - that's a nice one - only 55k miles on it." the mechanic tells me.

But it was an automatic ('98 - 2.3)

well I finally changed the bulb in my Off switch in the climate control. I want to add to the DIY about taking off the wood grain trim on the dash that you should remove it with the climate control attached to the wood grain because there is 2 screws that attach it to the wood grain and clips also. So its easier to just remove them as one unit and detach them once they are out. If you don't you can easily crack the wood grain trim

I took my car to dyno today. I had an appointment at RLZ to get it tuned, but that ass hole booked someone else on the same date and gave the other guy priority because they forgot to ask me for my information.

So then I ran into a girl I used to work with who just so happened to be dating some guy that had a dynojet. I gave him a call and he said he'd be able to tune it for me. When I got there, I found out that you need the original laptop that burned your Crome chip for it to be tuned. So the only person that can tune my car is RLZ unless I can find someone else with a burner to wipe the chip and do it again. This sucks because RLZ is nearly impossible to get ahold of. They never answer the phone and only occasionally respond to emails, which is what started the miscommunication in the first place.

Anyways, I was already there so I had the guy do a few dyno pulls just for the hell of it. The first run was the highest at 175 whp and 149 torque. We compared it to a sock '00 Prelude graph and mine was roughly 5-8 hp more throughout the entire range. I was happy with that. The air/fuel ratio looked good and stayed between 13.0 and 13.5. I was most concerned about the a/f since I'm running a stock H22 base map with an H23.

This is a photo of the 3rd pull which was the 2nd highest at 171.3 hp and 144.0 torque. My 2nd run was something like 150 whp because I was looking at the stock CL's redline of 6500 RPM and let off instead of reving it to 7500 RPM.

*EDIT* Just for reference, the guy had an Accord F22 single cam VTEC graph saved. I had the basic I/H/E and it put down 119 whp.

Dumb how the shop sucks at communication. Lack of communication is the #1 problem in most relationships - whether it's client to business or personal, so it's hard to expect them to be in business & successful for long.

Today I took my CL to the beach, and I picked up a power steering boot. I didn't get that until around noon, and it was around 103 today here w/ humidity that literally made it feel like 110. I'm going to wake up early tomorrow and beat the heat, and get that thing on. Then I'll probably wash it

Took my CL to dinner and bought some new sharks for my fish tank, love driving this car. Noticed that the car drives a lot smoother in d3 than d4, but I haven't changed my tranny fluid yet for this year

I though the numbers were ok. Not what I expected since you have basically the same mods and something like 195 whp.

None of my old Civic intakes have the right bends to swap onto the CL. I was thinking about buying a cheap $30 ebay intake and just putting one of my old K&N filters on it. That probably would have given me a another 3-5 whp considering I still have the entire stock intake on the car.

*EDIT* I forgot to ask you if your car still has the butterfly actuator for short/long runners on the intake manifold. Mine doesn't and only uses the short runners. On my last run (the one in the photo), we held the butterflies open so it ran on the long runners which put down less hp, but the car was already hot from the previous 2 runs.

RLZ are arguably the best Honda head porter in the country. They're supposedly good at tuning as well. I can't believe a company with that kind of reputation will just blow off customers like that and then ignore them. What kind of business turns away customers? Especially in an economy like this one.

I know they do a lot of tuning for the Honda Challenge cars. I also know that a lot racers aren't competing this year due to cost of travel and various other expenses. It's hard to believe they have such a full work load that they can't spend 1 hour of their time for a $250 dyno tune.

Took the car to lunch, forgot the joys of owning a black car in the summer somehow, car was hot as balls inside even with the sunroof and windows cracked, and nothing like burning your arm when you try to drape it out the window
