what did I do?

I am new to the group and would just like to say thanks to everyone that posts all the helpful; info on our cars. I needed help with a problem that I have. I was racing some Neon one night about 2:30am and as I was coming to an intersection I started to break but the road was wet where someone sprinkler system had sprayed in the the street and I lost control of the car. I spun around and the car jumped the curb and came to a stop on the median. One of the tires came off the rim. I took it to the shop and had it remounted and the didn't say anything was wrong. The problem is the car doesn't drive the same. On the freeway there is a vibration that you can feel in the steering wheel. It also feels like the car does what it wants to do. When you hit a bump the steering wheel turns by itself. The car seems to ride much harsher than before. I have no idea what it may be. Someone help me, please!

Erick sorry to hear about your crash. First of all your alignment is shot after something like that. Thats why your car is probably steering to one side if your drive on a straight road and you let go of the steering wheel. Second if your rim came of your car from the force of impact then your rim must of been bent. If your rim is bent then it needs to be balanced again and see if its worth saving. You might have to replace the rim if there is to much damage. Since your rim is not balanced correctly that probably explains any vibrating that is happening. I would also check for any suspension damage (shock, springs, control arm etc..)
Good luck Erick and welcome to the board

u prob bent some suspension parts like lower control arms, spindles...or can blow out ur shocks. Could be bent axles or something too. Ill talke it to an acura specialist to see whats bent.

Looks like the guys covered everything so I'll just give you the old welcome to the board. I did a similar thing with my old car and it turned out to be the cv joint. Could be lots though. Good luck.

my friend bent the bottom control arm of his suspension, but he couldnt drive the car it was so bad.

i would take it to a shop, or maybe an acura dealer that you trust and have the suspension check out to make sure that the impact didnt bend anyhting. even worse, it the vibration is coming from the steering wheel, it could be either a CV joint or any parts of the suspension that absorbed the impact.

i hope you get everything back to spec the way you want it.

and welcome to the forum.

if your wheel was bent you would know, and i wouldnt waste your time getting it repaired, buy a new one. check your control arms, your hubs, your lugs, and tire balance.

I was ran off the road in a previous vehicle and hit a curb pretty damn hard. My car started doing the same shit, and it turned out to be the cv joint.

Thanks for all the help. I will take the car to my dealer hopefully before the end of this week.
