This happened only once so far so I hope it's just a one time thing. 3.0 V6 with 61,000 miles......VTEC kicked in, then around 5000 rpm, the motor felt like it cut out, like I shut the key off. No backfire or wierd sounds. It lasted for only a half second, then everything was normal. Ever happen to anyone here? What was that? Do I need to panic?

Ignition recall i think...try searching the forum...

 

yeah i had to get my ignition replaced about 4 months ago because of the recall take it to an acura dealer and they should do it for free i think that will fix it

 

Does it kind of sound like your car sputtered? Check your oil, I had this problem because I had a bad oil leak and all my opil "disspapered".

 

Yeah, kinda a sputter, but not backfire noises or pops. My oil was just changed this week and it's full.
