vafc help!
ok..... i know it has to be dyno tuned and all that stuff.
my question is ....... what wires do i hook up to what on the ECU?
i just wanna see idle and readouts..... i dont wanna mess with the rest of the stuff until i get my cam gear and my fuel pressure regulator on the car.
dcsquirm88, niedejb ? anyone?
just tell me what color goes to what.... since the apex'i website is wrong

OK. All of these will be looking at the wires with the connectors in the
ecu. The top will be the part with the push tab.
The Red and orange both go to the yel/blk wire on the 32 P connector #11 top
right corner.
The Blk and Brn both go to the Blk wire just to the left of the #11 above.
Note the Brn wire needs to be closer to the ECU.
The Grn wire goes to the 32P connector Yel/Grn Wire #20. This is down one
row and left 3 columns. It should be the one with nothing in the row above
it (an empty spot).
The grey wire goes to the 16P connector (the smallest) Red/Blk wire. In the
top row all the way to the left.
The Blue wire is not used
The pink wire goes on the car side of the cut 32P connector #8 Grn/Yel wire.
Its the wire two to the left of the Blk wire for the ground. The Purple
wire goes on the ecu side of the same wire. Make sure they dont connect
bypassing the VAFC.
The White wire goes on the car side of the cut MAP sensor wire. This is on
the 16P connector white/yellow wire two wires to the left of the Throttle
Positioning Wire. The ecu side of the cut wire should get the yellow wire
from the VAFC.
Thank niedejb for this info. Having a shop manual really helps out.

I bought mine used out of the black market. :P
Not much that can go wrong with em.
Nice to see people using the info.
If you're going to go through the pain of getting to the ECU, you might as well do it all. Its only a couple more wires and you can leave all the corrections to 0% and you'll be fine.

F23 ecu question
I have been having major problems installing my VAFC today. when I connect everything the car idles extremely hard and vtec does not kick in then I disconnected the pressure wire and the vtec wire and hooked them up normally and the unit functioned partially and the car ran fine. Then I tried to find out which of those two wires was the problem and when I hooked up the pressure one and left the vtec wire stock the idle problem was there. and then when I hooked up the vtec wires and not the pressure wire the car idled fine and ran fine until vtec kicked in and then it was like I almost hit a rev limiter and the check engine light came on. so now I have the vtec and pressure wire running stock until I can find out what is wrong with them I have been cross referencing my service manual for the 22 23 and 30 with what was written above about the install but those install instuctions go with a f22 ecu it looks like. And the pressure wires and vtec wires are different. Right now I believe the vtec wire is the green/yellow wire on the 25p harness and the pressure (map) wire is the yellow/red on the 31p harness on the f23. There are 2 other map wires one is red/green and the other is green/white. It is possible one of those is correct but I dont want to hack them until im sure. And with the vtec wire I dont know what is wrong there is only one. I did look on the back of the box and it has engine codes in japanese and I see that it looks like there are 2 vafc models one is 401-a008 and the one with f22 and f23 engine codes is 401-a010 do I need to get the 2nd vafc or will the first one work. I have no idea what anything says on this box. Please let me know.

I'm not sure how the f22 wiring differs from the f23.
List how you have all the wires running. If you have a f23 manual follow it.
Disregard all apexi wiring its wrong.
The 25P connector on my car is for the auto transmission...not used on the vafc.
The yel/red on the 31 is none existant on my 31P. I have a yellow and a wht/yel.
The map on mine is on the 16P and its white/yel.
Good luck

The ecu's are deffinately different. I have the chiltons book and it has all three the 22 23 30 right by each other and they are all similar but still have some differences that make this install difficult. Any input on the two different models of vafc. I also dont have the same ecu plugs as the 22 like I dont have a 16p. And I dont have an auto trans plug like you were saying because I have a 5 spd. And I guess our plugs also differ in what order and what wires are in them because on mine brown is the ground instead of black. Hopefully someone else will have the 23 book and be able to help me figure this out.
