usdm j30 vs jdm j30

i was wondering when coming down to it which one would respond better to what im thinking almost 100% doing. i am going to turbo my j30 or buy jdm j30 do the cls cams unorthodox stuff and all that.. as well as a 6 speed tranny swap where i read the cls fits as well as i think the 04 accord and one other vehicle that i cant seem to remember right now.. i wanted to do a j32 but all the money with custom fab for just engine is idk..... but anyway which engine would be better and how much horse could you see me getting with 8 or 9 lbs of boost on a t3 or t70 turbo

There are a lot of different J30s. The J30 in your car is different than the J30 in the 6G Accord, which is different than the one in the 7G Accord.

That being said, parts for the most part are easily interchangeable I think. There's no reason to go and buy an engine that's the same as yours, especially if you're going to be modding it this much.

JDM isn't just automatically better, sometimes its just a waste of time and a pain in the ass imo.

I was thinking of just keeping the j30a1 unless you think there is something in the j30 series I should do I mean which would respond best to the turbo and swap up to the 04 accord tranny

J30a4 would it be worth it to find engine and tranny to turbo. Do cls cams work or cheaper to keep a1 and just swap the tranny

The J30A1 in the Acura CL is the same J30A1 in the 6th gen Accord V6.

I believe the J30A4 is not the engine you want to start with. The 6th gen accord guys have been swapping the J32 from the CL-S and TL-S or even the J35. Reason being is that the J30A4 requires a lot more money as well as reconfiguring due to it being a newer gen and different platform.

There are a couple guys that on this website as well as V 6 P . N E T. that can help you out with more info. Don't jump the gun though just yet. get more info before you plunk all that $$$ down!

The j30a1 is very tunable and has a very low compression and is boost and nitrous friendly. Everyone knows what I put my poor little cl through
