unusual revving

so i parked the car for like 4 days at the airport while i went to miami. this morning when i go pick up the car and start it up, i was like wtf??? the engine starts revving from 1500 to 1750 then drop back to 1500. i thought it was the ac so i turned it off and it's still doing the same thing. so i let it idle for a lil bit and decided i couldn't wait anymore so i started driving. by the time i stop again and put her to park, the revving stopped. i guess it's because the engine was warmed up.

but why does this happen? what's wrong w/ my car? it never happened before.
(btw, i have the bad egr valve, you think that's the problem?)

thanks guys, i probably have the most problems w/ my cl among all of you.

Mine did that for a long time I'd turn it on and would watch the rpms surge and sink surge and sink it was annoying as hell. Mine did it for around 20,000 miles every time I started the car, and one day it just didnt do it anymore. I replaced the vacuum lines and put new spark plugs in during this period, but Im not sure if this is what fixed it.

mine did that twice. just pull ur ecu fuse. its a 15amp in the fuse box under the hood. let ur car sit for couple mins. then stick it back in and start it up. let the car warm up and drop to idle. it shoulde be gone after that

check the vacuum hoses on the throttle body, one of them could have came loose. This would cause that to happen.
