tuning up the car...

hey guys, what does a tune-up for our car cost approx? this guy is charging me $100 to tune-up cuz it's an "acura"...is this price a reasonable one???

2. how many miles per tune-up?
3. what does a tune-up consists of?

**bonus: anyone heard of a carbon filter? if so, what is that and is it neccessary to change it? my friend (whos a girl) told me she just got her carbon filter changed...iono did she mean cabin filter or it's actually a carbon filter...

sorry for the list of questions...just had this questions while sitting in class listening to lecture. haha thanks

my boy, has a bmw 2 series. He got a tune up and it cost him i believe around $500. they changed his spark plug, fliuds belts..... so $100 does not seem right to me....it all really depends on what the mechanic is doing. I think from the acura dealer a 105k or 95k tune will cost a pretty penny.....

as to the carbon filter, i think that might be a carbon filter that is located in the cabin(clean the air maby)...correct me if i am wrong any1....
good luck with the tuneup

Tune up = Oil, oil filter, air filter, gas filter, spark plugs, ignition wires, cap, and rotor. You can get it all for under $100. I doubt he will change all that for exactly $100.
