track day!

ok.... i know it is kinda last minute.... but i want to go to the track this Friday.

who wants to show up?

i was thinking Capitol raceway because it is preety level and they let the imports go in all the lanes.... unlike 75&80 who crams them all into one lane for the whole night.

im game for either of them tho.

I'd go; but I won't go to Capitol Raceway! :thumbsdn:

Good luck!

Keep in mind that I got 6 runs at 75-80 Drag Way last time there (more than anytime at Capitol).

is 70 -80 north or south of captiol raceway? If its closer to me I might be able to make it. Then we can go at it on the track for real instead of the highway . Ill show you how its done then

75-80 Drag Way is right off of I-270, south-east of where !-270 and !-70 split. If you come down 15, it's only 10 minutes from where 15, I-270, !-70 intersect.

Costs $15.00 to run.

Like dajuice27, I have to work, and will come afterwards. Not sure how late.

I'll know more by Wednesday.

I got someone to cover for me (half-day) on Friday. I'll be leaving downtown DC between 4-4:30pm. I should be at the track by 5:30pm (or sooner).

Agreed that 75-80 you get more runs, but that track blows, slight incline, higher above sea level than capitol and MIR, everyone says they run slower at 75-80, I ran a 14.8 at 95 mph, which wasnt too bad, but if you just wanna practice, 75-80 is a better track to get more runs in.

Yeah. I'm there!
I'll try to leave work a bit early cause i know traffic's gonna be terrible.
Not sure if I'll just hang out or run... probably will run but we'll see.
I have'nt changed out my rear brakes yet, you think they'll give me grief over them? The low indicator squeals sometimes when driving.

I'm ready!

I put the 16s back on w/ stock tires (28lbs of pressure in the front).

Took about 100lbs worth of stuff out (speaker box, spare tire, jack, 3 cases of CDs).

Put in 108 octane boost (I'll make sure there's only about 2 gallons of gas left when I get there).

Shootin' for 14.1

Hopefully I'll need a helmet next trip!

No spare, about 1/4 tank by the time I get there and just filled all tires and oil and fluid.... etc.
I'm ready.

I'll probably deflate the front tires about 5psi when I'm there.

Met my goal of 14.1!

I'm too tired to write much more (see sig)!

I post pics and details, Saturday afternoon (I gotta work from 9am to 3 pm)! :thumbsdn:

BTW: I hit the CENTURY MARK! Best Trap speed was 100.1868!

My first time at the Drags since I was about 5 years old. What a blast!!! It was great meeting everyone who came out, looking forward to many more Friday evenings in Monrovia. I may even give racing a try next time!!!! Congrads Dust on the 100 mark!! I'm glad I was there to see it happen!!!!

Great time guys!

My last run I actually paid attention to the lights.

Best run of the night was my last one @ 16.4

I guess that's OK for my first time EVER at a strip!
I had a lot of fun but was frustrated with the wait and the screw-ups at the line.

Hey 1genCL, what happened to you back there on the last run?
I thought we were going together but they held you back or something...

At least you ran a 16.1 but I know with a little tuning (and some oil) you'll do better.

I have to tune up my ride too. Change the brakes etc.

Let's do this again soon.

Congrats Dust! I watched your last run from directly behind you.
Do you think we'd all have better times at Capitol due to the incline of this track?

Thanks!

Bodgan told me that they wouldn't let him run because of the water dripping (from the ice melting)!

I bet out times at Capitol would have been slightly better. Who knows, maybe I would of had my 13!

I'm starting a new thread with pics, etc. http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=77287
