took my car to the track friday night!!!
i went to capital raceway friday night and ran my car three times. i was surprised as to what i ran. the only mod i have is a rear section exhaust with my stock filter and removed air silencer. i ran a best time of a 15.8 two times and a 15.9 with a bad r/t. i think with a CAI i could run 15.5-15.6 easily. so for all you using the gtech's and ur wondering how accurate it is to the real thing, this should help you out. for all you md cl'ers i will see you sat!! i'm planning on goin back to capital in a few weeks after i get my other goodies installed . so whoever wants to come, your more than welcome.

I was pulling 15.5's and 15.6's w/ the Venom on and about 450 lbs. in the car (me, dajuice27, and my stereo equipment). Therefore, my GTech was pretty close!

Auto tranny has a much greater power loss to the wheels compared to a 5-speed.
We're luck to be getting 160 HP to the wheels in stock form.

i havent had an auto beat me off the line yet.
in the long run they are faster..... they catch up more when it comes to shifting, but not off the line.

if you would have read it correctly, you would have noticed that the 99 3.0 runs a 15.7. the 97 (which i have) runs a 16.1 stock. an automatic will lose off the line almost everytime cuz of the torque converter. thats where we lose so much power. but once it kicks in, it kicks in you'll see what i mean on sat.

Why is it that the 99' 3.0 runs quicker anyways?

2.2 and 2.3 run the same times. generally either 1 w/ i/h/e and 5spd can run 15.5-16 depending on the driver. without major engine work or FI or NOS i dont see a f22 or f23 hittin anything under a 15. oh yeah u could always just put ur car on a nice 300-400lb diet and get some good times, but then ud prob just have a seat and steering wheel. maybe 4 wheels and an engine.

If I wanted a fast car I would of bought one. I sold my vette because it was fast, then along came a car faster. It is a never ending battle. That is why I sold it and got a nice little four cyclinder, and now the never ending battle begins again for speed. I could put the price of what I sold my 94 vette for in this CL and still not out run and handle the vette. I would say, just be happy with owning a smooth car no matter how fast it is, because some friends of mine have one faster.

Sounds like a trip to Capital Raceway in 2 weeks.
|Lets shoot for the weekend of March 15th,so evey one can have enough time to tweak their babies into running straight lines.
I am there! I know Shatooi, Dustbuster4, Nomad and others will show up. Thoro-Dred - how about it bruh? Rep the 2nd gens at the track man!
Shatooi - get at me with a post or a PM and lets make this happen.

If the next weekend could work for everyone, I would appreciate it. If not, I'll hook up with y'all another time.

I just got back from the track. I only ran once since I got there late. Ran a 14.87@100.62 MPH with everything in my car from the spare tire to my all my tools. I would ran alot better but my tires didn't hook up at all. There is pieces of rubber and asphalt all over the sides of my car. I'll take some pics tomorrow. Maybe next time I won't spray a 75 shot in first gear
