okay, for those that dont' know, i'm a HUGE porsche NUT, have been since i was little and read my first article about the then 930 turbo. Porsche Turbos are almost as great as sex to me, everytime i see one i practically get hard. Well I was heading back from the CHP getting a fix it ticket written off (more on this later) and heading back on the 22 freeway when i look next to me and there is this 996 turbo SLAMMEd on black turbo wheels. The guy looks at me and gives me a thumbsup for my car. I was like wtf and start drooling over his shit. He guns it and i just try to keep up (i don't even) And i finally get behind him again and he gets off at my exit. He takes my route home and pulls into the porsche dealership right next to my house. I was like this is my chance, i walk up to the guy and tell him i'll give him 20$ for a ride. He says "i don't need your money, get in". By now i'm trembling, this thing was just beautifull. He starts asking me questions about my car as we pull out, i tell him it's slow but i got a little nitrous kit on it and it's good for high 13's he was mighty impressed. I then tell him about the burban and he really dug it and said he'd go pick up the mag it was just in. Well we get out onto the road and he just guns it. The first thing i notice other then it was fast as hell was i could hear the turbos just WHISTLING....i was like sounds like you got the boost up, he said he did that his buddy who was a porsche mechanic had remapped the ECU on a dyno and it was putting out about 520 HP to the wheels. Well before i know it we are doing about 120 on my street which isn't very big, we come to a light and right as we get to it it turns green and he just swings this car around this turn doing about 70. We haul ass down another street and make a right to go onto the freeway, he just guns it and swings all the way over to the carpool lane just fucking flying through the gears, and before i know it we just passed 160 on the 405. Well, we do some more HAULING SERIOUS ASS, before we end up at the dealership again, i get out w/ this grin just all over my face. We talk a little. Turns out he used to drive a single turbo supra that he had just wrecked and purchased the porsche. This guy couldn't be more then 30. I never asked what he did, but man was that fuckin fun.




okay, now to the BS CHP ticket shit. SO i get my ticket written off and while the guy is circling my car he notices my exhaust, asks me to get in and rev it a few times. I do, he then tells me he's gonna write me up for an exhaust ticket. WTF!! well i talk myself out of it, telling him it's carb approved and under the 95 db limit. He says it doesn't matter, anything louder then stock is a ticket. Then he says he's lucky he's in a good mood and he's not gonna write me up. :fawk:

The Porsche guy gets the Man of the year award in My book! 160 on the 405? that alone along with the free ride, nice convo and total coolness wins the award!


I still love the 959 Ruf Turbo, it's my favorite Porcsche and 2nd fav car behind the EB110 by Bugatti!
