Hello everybody,

I have a quick question. I have a 3.0 CL with the stock rims and 205/55/16 tires and I was thinking of replacing them with wider tires. Does anyone know how wide can I go on these rims??? 215, 225, 235 ??? For what it's worth, I know the stock rims are 6" wide. Thanks for the help.

PS What tires would you all recommend? I have Mitchellin Energy MXV4 and this is the second time I get a bubble on the side wall so they're out...

 

i would go any higher than 215

i have bridgestone potenza re730...they really sticky but theey wear out quick

another tire is toyo proxy FZ4 or t1s

 

try to surf ebay for a good gset of bridgestone potenza re910's, they are discontinued, but you can usually find a new set of 4 on ebay

They are very sticky and have great wet traction

 

I read on here that 225 50 16s are about the same circumference as the stock tires. There isn't much clearance above the rear wheels - the upper A arm is about a 1/4 inch from the inside corner of the tire.
