Thought the motor was doneee
So... a couple days back i did my full tune up... and i also put a short intake on.... the company that sent the intake sent me a cheesy silicon hosing that was wayyyy too big in diameter for the spot, replaces the one that runs through the factory air box... so i was down the street, luckily close to home, and i noticed the motor smoking, so i fille the resivuar for engine coolant with water... i get right home let it cool down and go at it... i went down to auto zone and got some tubing made to withstand pressure... hooked it all up thinking i'm all set... leave my house at night to go to the next town to get my girl and go out... first one of the clamps got stuck on the throttle, and held it all the way down... so i got out and bent it back away from the throttle... then i start it up and start on down the road and the god damn thing heats up again... all the way into the red... i pull over, pour a bottle of water on the engine, let it cool down, and drive it back home... i didn't sleep at all that night thinking i blew my head gasket
, and we all know you can never get that right, so i was thinking a new engine... i get up in the morning think a little harder, the radiator was bone dry and wasn't taking any from the resivuar.... so i fill the radiator, go for a ride, it sucks all that coolant in, starts to heat back up, added more, and eventually it sucked enough in and now the cl is running better than it ever has for me...

you have to fill it at the radiator and not the overflow tank. and you should leave the radiator cap off to let the air escape. was it smoking from the tailpipe or fromt he engine bay.. eather way you prolly did some pretty serious dammage for it to be smoking. if it was out of the tailpipe then u scorched your rings, and prolly will need a new motor in the near future. if it was smoking from the engine compartment then you could have warped one of your heads. eather way, do a compression check and make sure you have equal compression all the way across, and cross your fingers.

yeah, that was why mine was smoking... the coolant leaked onto the motor
