So every time i accelerate hard in 1st and 2nd gear my ebrake light comes on and stays on until i let off the gas. This isnt an occasional thing, it happens every time i accelerate hard. This started happening about a week ago.

I checked the brake fluid level and it's fine.

Any ideas??

 

Its probably the sensor under the brake fluid reservoir cap. There is a little float in there that mearsures the brake fluid level. Check it out, make sure it can move up and down freely.

 

i had that problem with an infiniti i had... there was a quarter by the switch for the e-brake.. that turns the light on.. when i made the car move... it would light it up...

 

mines was doing that, shortly after that started my back brakes started squeaking. once I changed my rear pads it stopped, two months later it started up again, so now I guess my front ones are going too!

 

i just got my brakes changed about 1500 miles ago. that's 4 pads and 2 rotors.

i'll check the float under the cap today.

 

My CL did that as well. Nothing was wrong either. My brother checked out my cap and told me that it could be the problem. I got a new one, but never put it on. So, if you find out it IS your cap, let me know. It's still new and has never been used.

 

My celica had the exact same problem, my brakes ended up going out completely. I had to replace rotors, pads, brake lines, pretty much everything.

 

ugh i'll try the cap first, and if that doesn't work, i'll take it to the dealer or somethin
