are the synchros in cl 2.2 made out of brass?
does anyone know if the synchros are made of bronze or brass? anyone know what they are made of? i heard some transmission oil "oxidizes" these and wears them out sooner. I just put in penzoil synchromesh and have a 97 2.2 and was wondering if this is a bad move. Anyone else have a 2.2 and which transmission fluid do you guys use and which ones out there are good? i heard royal purple was good but anyone know the differnce between penzoil and royal purple synchromax?

Honda has a particular tranny fluid spec (Z-1) that is important to keep to. I would say drain the penzoil and drop in some genuine honda or AMSOIL, which is certified to Honda standards.
