its 2:35 sunday morning , im with a friend not drunk or high just chillin driving around when a cop pulls me over for no reason ( wasnt being suspicious ) he asks me what were doing this late at night and we told him our attempt to have fun or find some wasnt working to well so he politly asked if i had any issues with my lisence and i told him no. he goes back and checks it and comes back telling me its suspended as from jan to feb ( one month) like 5 months ago and i shat a brick > he was nice and told me that he wasnt going to take it away from me and that i should get itlooked into ( while he issued me the ticket assuring me that if there was a resolution in the works it would be droppd no problem ) so i thanked him and drove off but what should i do i never recieved a suspension letter or anything what am i supossed to do ? if the dmv sent one it never arrive at my crib. i cant have this on my license its a misdomener so im realy scared how do i get this dropped ? anyone have this problem This is realy huge for me since i cant have anymore "problems with my license " Mods please see that this gets to were it needs to be . i realy love my Acura and i dont want her to go away, shes my baby, i love her so much i would never have any other car in the world.

 

go to the dmv and check it out and talk to someone and if that fails go to the police station and talk to an officer about it and see if they have records of the mail sent and ticket given....

Call or go to DMV and ask them why your license is suspended. Take care of the reason why it was suspended and they'll reinstate your license and most likely at court just give you a lessor charge of something like not having your license with you. But you have to go and take care of it asap because we want you at the meet on Sunday...

Also, if there's a "court date" on your ticket I would recommend going to court and asking them about it there; that way you can get the suspension figured out as well as the dropped ticket. If all else fails and you end up getting a ticket, go to driving class: a fun-filled 8 hours of shit on a saturday. At least the cop was nice though, my freakin' speeding ticket almost cost me my license. For some reason though, cops seem to be nicer once you get them in court...hmmm...

If you are in your car, drunk. And have your keys you can get arrested for DUI. You dont even have to be driving. You dont even have to have the keys in the ignition. If you are drunk in your car with your keys in your possetion, its a DUI. Trust me I Know. I have been down the DUI road!

I personally wouldnt have taken the breathalizer. The worst that happens is you lose your license for a year with no other charges. But that could easily be fought in court since their actions were based on hearsay from an annonymous party. PLus...they dont have any evidence (breathalizer results) that way. He was sort of dumb about the whole thing. They even towed his car from his house.

 

it can be something as simple as you changing your insurance co. if you change ins companies around that time what would have happened is that the old ins co notified the state that you nolonge had coverage with them and the new did not notify the state ..that is a common thing that i see in my line of work...if that is the cse all you have to do is get a letter from your current ins carier stating that there was no lapse in coverage

my license was suspended for 9 months one time, and I wasn't even aware... apparently I forgot to renew it ($50 renewal fee) and they didn't sent me shit to let me know. The only way I found out is because I moved and didn't receive my new license for quite a while. So I called them and got the bad news. They don't give a flying f#ck about anything or anybody. I guess they assume that people can read minds or something.

And if you do find out that it was an insurance lapse that had your license suspended and if it really did lapse, you have to pay a fine of like $5 or $10 each day you lapsed or you have to give up your license for taht same amount of time. It happend to me a few years back. I had registered a car for someone (big mistake) and they stopped paying insurance on it.
