Cool Sunroof Rubber is Melting

My rubber gum around the sunroof is slowly desinagrating

Everyone tells me that i need to find a whole new sunroof. Is this true?

is there a way to repair this myself?

you could probably get the rubber at the dealer and just replace it

@ thread about melting rubber(s)

...sorry

if it came down to it, maybe you could go get just the rubber trim piece from a junk yard.

They don't sell the rubber seal. You have to buy the whole sunroof.

Talk to a dealership, you have to be able to get that piece. Or, hit up a junkyard

i haven't replaced the seal, but replaced the entire moonroof glass because my seal was all warped to shit which made water get through and resulted the metal frame in the front corners to rust

Do you have to take your whole headliner down to do that? Just curious.

well you do to take out the whole sunroof assembly and it would prbably be easier with the whole thing out

to change the seal, i think all you need to do is take the glass out...you dont need to take apart the entire assembly...
