stuck trunk & fuel release handles

Hi All

I have a 98' 3.0 and I've got this crazy problem where I can't open my trunk or my fuel door from within the car. At first I thought it somehow got locked, I tried in both positions and in both positions handles for trunk & fuel door seem to be stuck. All I care about is to open up the fuel door. Any other way to open fuel door? Thanks for any input.

ESL?
Are you sure you've turned the key completely in the lock when you try to unlock it?
My key sometimes gets a little stuck and wont turn all the way.
It just takes some jiggling and force (pushing down while i turn), or just taking it out and trying it again.
make sure the key is completely in the " --- " or " | " positions.. not like " \ " or whatever.

other than that, i duno. you can probably take that shit apart and figure it out

The fuel door isn't affected by the lock at all. Take the plastic cover off and see if the cables are pulling, or maybe they were disconnected by a previous owner? The plastic cover has a little plastic bar covering the screw, and then one screw, just take it off and check it out

Thanks for replies. I did take cover off and it is not locked. Unfortunately, the cables still do not pull when I tried pulling handle. I've had the car for many years and just last week opened fuel fill door to get gas.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks.

Well, I took the plastic cover off and left it down to cables. Tried pulling both cables on its own and it seems to be stuck. Is there anything that can get it stuck? I assume if they were ripped, I would be able to simply pull them out which is not the case here.
