Street bikes
I'm gonna keep the cl but i'm also gonna pick up a street bike something 2000+ i figure six years isnt too bad for a bike, i really like yzf r1s, but my parents won't go for the 1000, my dad is getting a chopper with an 1800cc engine... hipocrit(sp?) i know there is an r600 probably not too bad, but i just love the exhaust design on the r1000, i was wondering if anyone could tell me what brands to go for/stay away from, and suggest what a fast/reliable 600cc or so strreet bike is, thats good for a beginner? ive ridden dirt bikes and quads all my life so i know how to

your 'rents are right, a liter bike is too much to start on. I started on an R6 which many said was too much as well and i love it. I currently have an 04 R6 for sale if you are intersted PM me

I recommend the following.
Suzuki GSXR 600 or 750
Yamaha R6
Honda CBR600RR
Kawasaki ZX6R
If it's your first bike I definatly recommend getting a used one. You'll probably drop it a couple of times before you good at riding. I dropped mine a bunch and it's not fun dropping a 10,000 dollar bike. The best thing to do is to go to a dealer and sit on a bunch of bike and figure out which one you like and is comfortable.

Just sold it last week to a friend...my starter bike. Didnt want to sell it off but I sorta had to at the moment. It's all about respecting your bike...a few guys I rode with started on liter bikes and were fine, just take it easy. It doesnt matter what your ridin when someone pulls out infront of you so whatever way you go...keep your head up.
Oh..and in response to how it performs...never had one problem with it. Rode for over 6K last summer. As long as you keep up on the oil changes and watch the fluids, youll be fine.

One more for the hell of it.

NEED OPINIONS ON THIS. Ive only ridden a couple motorcycles, i went and looked at this bike today \
I understand its not the best looking bike, but if i get this bike i will have no debts on it, and its probably a good bike to start on being a katana 750... what would you guys do? i figure i can drive it this summer, dump it off after the winter and grab a brand new yzf r1 or something? let me know what you guys would do personally with this situation... thanks

How could you have no debts with that compared to no debts with a used R6 or CBR? I'd stick with a R6, GSXR600 or CBR600....I learned on an R6. Figure it this way, nomatter which bike you choose.....none of them will be "safer" than the others. If your gonna die, your gonna die reguardless. Just respect your bikes power and you'll be fine. Spend a few extra and get an R6...

theres a few threads in ramblings and car talk about good starter bikes. i suggest you go look at those since there is alot of knowledge and experiance combined in those threads.

I just got a kawaski zzr600 it comes in galaxy silver. It's a nice, fast bike. Or I like the gixxer 600, 750, or the 1000. but for a beginner get a 600 or 750 gixxer! Nice and light

neither if you value your life, get a jet ski.
You probably have a good chance of dying riding a jetski alot because soo many more drunks and people driving very powerfull boats under the influence. JME
I've never been to keen on kaw's and neither have anyone i've talked to. Yam r6 is what im wanting to get or a cbr f4i.
