stock offset is...
50! Duh, it's right on the wheel under the center cap.
So, to maintain the correct geometry,
16x6 ET50
17x7 ET40
17x7.5 ET35
Not sure whether any of these will cause rubbing, but these are the wheel sizes you need to prevent wear & messed up handling.
Then again, I'm 5mm off on my WRX it seems fine.
