Since I also have a stock CD Player (actually CD Changer) question and I don't want to piss off Adrienne, I'd post my question under this topic. Sometimes, when I use my CD Changer, it shows E-1 on the panel. To make it work, I would have to take out the CD cartridge and put it back in. Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

The two codes that you guys are getting are described in the owner's manual (pages 85 and 86 in the 1997 3.0CL one).
CDPE-0 is described as "FOCUS/CLV Error, Data Read Error, Searc Error" and the solution is "Press the EJECT button and pull out the disc. Check if the disc is inserted correctly in the CD player. Make sure the disc is not scratched or damaged."
E-01 is a CD changer code that means "Disc-changer malfunction". One of my friends had this error messae and it required the changer to be replaced under warranty.

I got the exact same PEO message. I brought it to the dealership back in 1997 i believe and they said they would sent it in to be fixed. So i waited for a month w/o a stereo and it came back finally. It was still broken so they gave me a new headunit. Then like a year later, the new headunit came up PEO. So i brought it in again and they said it was out of warranty cause i had so many miles on my car (currently 171,000 ) so i just went with an aftermarket one because something tells me if i got another Acura one it would just break again.

I get the same CD error message PE-0. When I brought it into the dealer, they said that they would order a new radio to install. It's part of the Techinical service bulletins for our car at Alldata.com. Another issue is the steering controls for the stereo for those with the 98+ CL's. If it's still under warrenty, they will replaced both for free, if not, they will attempt a repair.

Here is the TSB # per melo72's suggestion:
87-015 NOV 97
Audio Unit In-Warranty Exchange/Out-of Warranty Repair
I would tell the dealer about your head unit probs - if they don't fix it whip out the TSB number that mentioned out of warranty repair (tho we can't read the TSB and see how many miles over they'll repair it!)
Now, what's the deal with the radio controls on 98+'s? I didn't see a bulletin with that subject.

For those who have jacked up factory stereos, I'll seel you mine for cheap if you'd like. i'm putting my aftermarket one in this week. If you don't have the BOSE then hit me up. I've never had a problem with mine yet. You'll have all the harness and everything too.
Peace.

If I wasn't under warranty I might, that is if I wanted to keep the stock radio. I figure I'm gonna have them change it just for the hell of it and I'm going to change th stock unit and the rest of the system later anyway.
For those of you w/o warranties, this might be a good oppurtunity.
