I was wondering, you know how a certain percentage of HP and torque gets absorbed on its way down from the crank to the wheels. Well, is that percentage the same for 4, 6, and 8 cylinder cars? For example would a 4 cylinder car put a higher percentage of it's power to the floor then a V-8 or vice versa?

For a manual you can figure 10-15% total drivetrain losses. For an automatic, it really depends on the trans.
