Starter problems on 99 2.3 CL

Can somebody help me on this...now I've asked a couple of people and everybody seems to say that I need a new starter.

Now my car wouldnt start...I know it's not the battery because everything powered in teh car works including the radio, tv, dvd player and all that. The only way I can start is by clutch starting it. I've tried to jumpstart nothing happens. When I try to start it the regular way all you hear is a couple of clicks but not like when the battery goes out. I've bought the new starter but before i put it in I would like anybodys advice on this situation because I cant take the starter back after I install it.

THanks

if you have to clutch start it, i'm pretty sure it's the starter.

take the starter out and get it tested at autozone for free. that way u could still get the money back for your new one if it was the battery
