Got my first speeding ticket tonight

Got a whole long story to tell; not in the mood to type it out now though its 3:30AM.

But how much has your speeding tickets been? How fast were you going? And what ws the speed limit in that area??

I was doing around 110 in a 45; and i got a $80 speeding ticket; god i was sooo lucky; they shoulda taken me to jail for that, because technically it was racing as well.

 

80$ for 65 over? I dunno about that.

I paid 320$ for 18 over in Tift County, GA. I know its lower in FL...But they usually take you to jail 25mph over. Being I'm originally from FL, and with my experiences getting tickets in FL...I'm gonna have to call BS on this one. No way 65mph over is only 80$.

 

you might ALL wanna call BS on this one, but heres what happened to me (((keep in mind this was in GA!!))) 91 in a 55, two cops pull me over, search lights, everything........go to court, 275 in fine, 25 in court costs, 200 in probation fee's....one years suspended license, defensive driving, 6 months probation, $210 reinstatement fee for license......do the math, PS....dont speed in GA! also, this was the day after i bought the CL!!! Lucky, cause 5 minutes before i was doin 120 on CRUISE CONTROL!!!!

 

ALSO!!!!! at one point, there was a warrant out for my arrest!!:pfawk: NO JOKE!

 

how the hell did u only pay 80...ur car should have been impounded...i just got one for 271...for goin 67 in a 40 ...just 27...WTF...

 

damn dude your pretty lucky, I got one in Maryland a few weeks ago for $80. 64 in a 60!!!! heh, what kind of bs is that.

 

I've only had one speeding ticket in my life wjich was 5yrs ago on Christmas day, 75 in a 55mph zone. Since I was a juve, I had to go to court, fined 75.00 payed, 40.00 for court costs. 2pts on my license and had to attend a drivers safety course, I still speed alot, but I'm always on the look out for the po-po, OHIO SUCKS!!!

 

64 in a 60? Are you sure the cop didn't cut you a break on the ticket? I can't imagine ever getting pulled over for doing 4 mph over the limit.

 

I know its crazy.... The guy first came up to me and asked me if i've ever been to jail before. And i said no; he said that tonight will be my first night. Already bout to piss mah pants; he comes up later says i'm not taking u to jail. then i was waiting for him to suspend the license; he gives it back. then i'm waiting for like a 40000 fine and then he gives me a ticket for 80 bucks; i was ready to coem out the car and kiss em'

it doesn't say anythign about speed. thank god for that; because i dont have to tell my mom how fast i was going.

i think he got us mostly for racing. my friend the guy i was racing got a ticket for the same amount. but he's got a suspended license so they got him for that more-over.

 

If thats true....I'd start going to church. Cause I haven't ever heard of anyone getting a break like that before.

I got one last week in St Lucie county courtsey of the FHP on the Turnpike, when I was on my way up to Orlando and then Tampa. I was doing 93 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. The ticket is for $175.00. Your one lucky guy only getting an $80 ticket. By the way this was my first speeding ticket as well.

 

seriously i think i had osme sort of force field around me; i mean when the cop stopped us he was screaaming at the top of his lungs at both the other car and i "TURN THE ENGINE OFF!!!!' it was like an episode of COPS; was ready to shit my pants. I'm genreally a good kid. Never drank or smoked in my life, straight A's in school... goin to jail. man iwas ready to put a gun to my head. I was like with a record i'm not gettin my scholarship and it dont matter anyway because i'd be dead once my mom came to get me at the poilce station. God was seriously on my side. I'll tell ya one thing; iv'e learned my lesson.

 

Im up here in Jax, and I got pulled over a few months ago and got 2 tickets for havein blue side makers, those two equaled up to $88, and how you get off with $80 for all that. it just aint right

I've had mine for almost nine years now and not one ticket. This unit is awesome!

My younger brother is cop in Orlando. Let me tell you, you are so lucky. It sounds like you got the cop close to the end of the their shift and they didn't want to deal with the paperwork of an arrest. May the force be with you 97AcuraCL.

You are really lucky. Where did this happen? im assuming down on 50 or I-drive since you said you have meets there a lot but those arent great roads to speed on, IMO.

 

I had 2. the first one was on I-10 on the way home to Miami from FSU. Going 96 at 70. I was going like 105 half a minute b4. could've gone to jail in some back country jail. I would have to say bye-bye to my virgin arse. ticket was like 178 (??) it was the hickest FHP i've ever seen. don't understand a word he said. Advice from anyone of you going to tallahassee from the east coast. don't speed on I-10 on madison, jefferson counties.

If you ever get lost on your way back to Tallahassee here are some very simple directions. I-75 North until you smell it, then I-10 West until you step in it.

Okay you have to realize that I went to UF in the late 80s and early 90's when you Noles owned our ass in football. No disrespect intended, just a little light-hearted humor. My brother-in-law actually is a sophomore at FSU now and he's constantly send Seminole outfits for my little girl (both my wife & I went to UF). It's all fun and games in the family.

dood, i just got another ticket recently less than a month ...for tint and only having parking lights on....i guess i forgot to turn them back on after leaving the drive thru ...but shit no need to get a ticket for it...i was only goin 20 mph at the time he turned his lights on...comes up to me and says u know wat u did wrong...im like wtf...how am i supposed to know im goin 20 mph ...then tells me to roll my windows up to see if i had tint...so he gave me a ticket for that...wat a bitch...them pesky porkers

 

I have a good one. Last fall after a day of installing new subs, I was driving home. I had the volume set at 15 which is about 80 or so db's, not really loud at all. Going the speed limit, this pig pulls me over and sites me for excessive noise. I was really pissed after I signed it. He handed me my copy and I ripped it out of his hand, started my CL and peeled out in first. The pig got back in his car, chased me down again and said I was driving wreckless. I told him the fine was B/S, he said calm down, just pay the fine, and he said go home. I guess I was lucky, he could have given me another ticket. What an Ahole.

 

I have a question for all of you that have gotten pulled over a lot. I see a common denominator not only on this forum but also on the Accord Forum that I check out for maintenance issues.

It seems that a lot of auto enthusiasts that are getting pulled over frequently have one if not more of the following characteristics:

- Lower Car (very low)
- Aftermarket look to car (Altazzeas or how ever you spell it, very noticeable rims, body kits, aluminum wings etc). Basically the car does not look stock. It looks more like rice rather than tasteful enhancements to the cars style.
- Stereo system that can be heard 2 miles away

So does this seem like profiling to you? Duh...yah. Now ask yourself this, "if profiling doesn't produce results, then way haven't the cops stopped." Guess what, profiling does produce results; just ask the CIA and other agencies investigating possible terrorists. More arrests are made in major cases by officers (not pigs) making routine traffic stops than by investigators/detectives assigned to the case.

So yes, cops target young males out cruising (especially your ride looks like a pimp mobile) because guess what, half the time they/you/me are the up to no good (racing, fucking around, speeding, etc.).

So let me ask one more question. The next time you call a cop a pig, think about putting your LIFE on the line every single day you go to work! And yes in my younger days I did call them pigs, pork, A--holes, etc. but maturity and real life can really change your outlook on life. Talking about how the “pigs hassle you about clear tails or turn signals” just really make one sound like they need to trade in their car for a Tonka toy and go back to the sand box until they grow up.

In summary, if you don't call attention to yourself (wild looking car, music blaring to point where the drivers around you can't hear there own music, weaving in & out of traffic) you won't get stopped. I drive 85+ mph on the highway (traffic conditions allowing) and usually 20+ over the posted speed limit (conditions allowing) and not 1 ticket in over 9 years. I don't call attention to myself (even when I was driven my RX-7).

You know...we're not mad at cops because they're doing their jobs. It shit like "being pulled over for tint" or "oh..your exhaust is too loud" bullshit that gets me steamed. They should be out catching murderers...not being stifflers on "oh....your radio is too loud."

As for the whole car thing...Stock sucks. They way one styles a car is how one displays his/her's character. Yes it attracts attention...Cause your out of the ordinary boring line up.

You driving 20+ over is your own damned business. And thats great that you haven't been pulled over in 9 yrs. Fact stands...they still pull over stock looking cars. Cops are just asses for picking out moded cars...to me, there is nothing wrong with being unique.

What cops is doing are stereo typing. As far as I'm concerned, stereotyping of anytime is a negative quality. :sqntfawk:

 

Its not that Im just goin to sit arond and call them pigs ar a-hole just cause their doin thier job, Im callin them that cause their attitudes, I have some cop friends and thier not pigs, but when I get pulled over for haveing side markers that are blue and the cop is tells me that "all your goin is goin out causein trouble for people" and being a stright ass to me when I give him nothing but respect, thats BS, and my cop friends will tell you the same, and befor you start sayin, "what attitude did you give him", I have always givin the best respect to cops, or to anybody cause thats how I was brought up. and gettin pulled over for stupid reasons piss me off (which Ive got plenty of those stories that will make you ask, you got a ticket for what?), but what pisses me off more is gettin cop that dont even treat you with the least bit of respect and Ive show nothing but respect, thats crappy, and thats why I I get pissed

 

when i was grippin' about police it wasnt for my speeding ticket...i never argued over that...cuz in fact i was over the speed limit...i never complained about getting pulled over for that...it was the fact that he pulled me over for tint, and tried giving me shit as to ..."u know what u did wrong?" when he asked me this when i just accelerated and hit 20 mph...wat the hell AM i supposed to think...? then gets me for a tint ticket...now THAT is BULLSHIT...i understand that they put their lives on the line in all that...but for tint...and giving me shit for that is im my opinion a waste of my time considering i was sittin in my car for 25 minutes for tint ticket when i had other important things to do

 

if they make THEIR quota, THEY get a bonus

THEY play god and almost always win

if we speed, we can't complain about a ticket
if we drag, we can't complain about a ticket

if our cars are not the boring stock, off the production line look, and we're not hurting anyone by having tint, blue bulbs, loud exhaust, or a slammin system, leave us the fuck alone!!!!
