Some good winter tires for my 18s
Hey all,
I finally got my 18" Vollkner Racing rims wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Neros and the srping/stut combo.
Will have amazing pictures by this week end.
Anways, winter is coming up real fast here in Michigan which look like freezing temperatures, sleet and feet of snow!
I wanted advice:
how do these tires handle in winter? I'm guessing horrible. Especially that they're low profile. Did anyone ever attempt keeping such tires in winter and what did it look like?
Are there any cheap winter tires for 18s?
Or should I put my stock rims/tires back?
Thanks for he precious advice. please bear in mind that I am broke, in debt, swamped with bills. I worked on my car when was broke and put it all on credit cards. So no expensive options for me. I will most likely just put my stocks back on for winter...
thoughts? simply keep the pirellis and aand rims on?
Will excessive salt also screw up my rims?
Thanks all.

I would put your stock rims on if I were you. If you want a set of like new 16" snow tires PM me, I have a set of Michelin X-Ices that I'm trying to sell. Just 2 fronts but that's all you need. But either way, don't drive with your brand new rims all winter.

im keeping my 18s with the same tires (pzero nero) for the winter
most of the time the snow on these roads isnt too deep that being low profile will affect it really..
i dont know about michigan.
but as far as handling, i have more faith in these tires than those on my old stockies (which i'd like to sell!)
as for salt, im just going to give them a good wash pretty frequently, and rinse them every day.
i heard there is some sort of spray you can get for wheels that helps prevent salt damage..
if anyone knows what that stuff is, i'd appreciate having that knowledge!

He won't get 20 feet in michigan winters with low pro's. Trust me, I lived there for 6 years. I'll be back there this weekend

I say get some nice snow tires for your stock rims and use those...much cheaper than the cost of 18" snow tires
dunno but ya'll, but the salt on the roads up here eats up nice rims like a mofo
